Carmelo, wife to star in reality show

NEW YORK

Carmelo Anthony has not even unpacked his bags in the Big Apple, but he and wife La La Vazquez already have their own reality show.

The series is slated to run for 10 episodes, starting in August, after kicking off filming last month. It will be a follow-up to "La La's Full Court Wedding," which culminated with last summer's lavish New York City nuptials.

“Viewers connect with La La because despite the fairy tale wedding and NBA star husband, she is a real, down to Earth, hardworking woman who stays true to herself,” said Jeff Olde executive VP of Original Programming and Production for VH1.

“The best thing about the new series is that while pursuing and realizing her dreams, La La gets to take us back to her home in New York, where her story began.”

Rumors of Anthony's departure from Denver to his native New York began with last summer's wedding, when star Hornets point guard Chris Paul made a now-famous toast to he and Anthony joining power forward Amar'e Stoudemire with the Knicks.

Anthony, 26, was traded to the Knicks Monday after months of rumors, and signed a three-year, $65 million contract extension. He will make his Madison Square Garden debut Wednesday night against Milwaukee.

Vazquez said in a tweet Wednesday: "I wanna thank the city of Denver 4having us for almost 8 wonderful seasons. I wish the team, city & fans the best. Thank u for being awesome."

Just another reason why we should have held out and given Denver less than they wanted.

Anthony was not going to end up anywhere but NYC, and any talk of him taking his talent elsewhere would have been BS. His wife would have made sure that he ended up here.

We could have been non-committal, Denver would have folded, and we would have kept Mosguv, or more, IMO.

Well, remember we were competing against the other NYC metro area ball club.

You and I know that NJ was not a real option for Anthony.

And I would not believe much of the stuff coming from Walsh at this time- he is not going to make any controversial comments at this point in time.

It probably wasn't an option for Anthony but his wife may have the last word
