How about Fields, Mason Jr , Azu, $3mm and Turiaf for Ok4. Gives the Knicks the rebounding help they need as well as a guy who can keep scrubs like BigZ from dropping a dozen on us in the first 8 minutes of the game.

NO gets out from his contract, gets a downgrade but servicable big in Turiaf and a solid young player in Fields with a NO friendly price tag.

Knicks would like this:
PG Billups
SG Brewer
SF Melo
PF Amare
C OK4
Bench: Shawn Williams, Douglas, Sheldon Williams, Rautins

That puts more defense around the Diva/STAT tandem.

I made my pitch in my own thread - but I'd use Azubuike and Brewer to trade for Sessions and Carl Landry.

Then I'd sign Jared Jeffries and Earl Barron

Knicks really need to find a backup PG somewhere.. Goran Dragić would be a nice pickup, if he's available. Finding a big man is going to be tough now, but there's always the offseason

I would hate to ship out Fields, but Okafor would be perfect next to Amar'e.

I agree this would be something to wait on before really tying us down with his contract. If we could take back Okafor as part of a CP3 deal? Man, that would be the perfect scenario going forward for this team.

The new guys we got can't be packaged in a trade for anyone. My understanding of the cap/CBA is that we could flip Brewer by himself within 48hours of the trade, but not Brewer in a package.

But i like the Jeff Foster idea. a lot.

This team needs a Scott Pollard/Jeff Foster type.

Looks like Portland is committed to trading Miller and Camby as of now. Not sure we can offer anything they would be looking for, but I'd take either player on our current roster. Camby would be an interesting piece right now...

Robin Lopez isn't getting much burn in Phoenix, although at 225lbs, he isn't going to match up well against Orlando or boston. He is however better then anything we have. OTOH, i don't think we have anything they would want :(
