It gives us size and bench scoring.

And it'll make Briggs smile again.

But seriously, this is a realistic trade to pursue.

I'd also pursue Sessions for Kelenna or Brewer.

If we could add both Sessions and Landry, we'd be stacked for a playoffs run THIS season.

I'd also pursue signing Earl Barron and Jared Jeffries - waive Mason Jr and Anthony Carter.

Billups / Sessions
Fields / Walker/Toney
Melo / Shawne Williams
Amar'e / Carl Landry
Turiaf / Jeffries / Barron

I think we should go after Sessions. We need a fast young PG both as a backup and as a future PG

Let me ask you this -- would you rather have Corey Brewer around to lock down the opponent's best player all game together with Fields (this could be huge -- if even for only the rest of the year, Brewer defending good players frees up Anthony from doing so) AND say a Jeff Adrien (a similar player to Landry that we could go out and get right now with one simple phone call OR Carl Landry by himself..Easy decision for me -- gimmie the first two guys.

I don't think Brewer's as bad an offense player as he's been this year in Minnesota but regardless, we have enough offense anyway..Brewer's specialty is DEFENSE..Always has been..He could play a very pivotal role come playoff time -- here's a bonafide, very capable defender that we can put on guys like Luol Deng, Jason Richardson, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Lebron/Wade, etc..Look, this guy's probably gone after the year but let's not discount what he could do for us the rest of the way..I kinda like what he brings actually.

Fine - I like what Brewer brings a lot, actually - but I think our biggest areas of need are still backup PG and another big.

I think Sessions and Carl Landry are cheap, good ways to add those missing pieces.

Fair enough....Carl Landry's OK because he's an expiring contract but I really want no part of adding Sessions' $8.5M salary over the next two years though..If we really think we need another PG we should think about going after one a little less conventionally...Either draft one to play understudy to Billups and TD next year or clear the room & go out and get a solid D-League PG right now -- someone like Curtis Stinson, maybe a Scottie Reynolds..Stinson's much more of a pure point -- dude's leading the NBDL in assists (9.2 a game), not counting Terrance Williams and Jonny Flynn who only played a combined 5 games between them. Stinson's the best floor general in the DL by far. What's wrong with him as a 3rd PG?? Is Sessions so much better than Curtis Stinson? $8.5M dollars better? No, he's not.

Sessions did just have that monster game against the Lakers right before the break to snap the Cavs' losing streak...Dude put up 32 & 8 in that game . That's nice and I think he's a pretty good player but just think about adding that salary of his...Kinda makes it a no-go..
