I think our early lineups will be Billups-Fields-Melo-Amare-Turiaf, but as time goes on a bit I would not be surprised to see:

PG- Billups
SG- Fields
SF- Brewer
PF- Melo
C- Amare

Brewer adds some versatility to the lineup, and if he can start hitting that corner 3 that we practice religiously, he can be one of those Bell/Diaw/Marion types in the D'Antoni system. Not saying he's that good, but he did come into the league as a Point forward type. If any of you remember him at Florida, he drew a lot of comparison to Scottie Pippen because of his athleticism and versatility. He's a very long player who creates turnovers (will get 1-2 steals a night). The great thing he is true lockdown perimeter defender. His defense will be easy to spot now that he's playing with two scoring juggernauts. A perimeter defender will be a difference maker against Pierce/Allen, Wade/Lebron, Jason Richardson, Joe Johnson etc.

I lot of you will be surprised at Brewers game now.

He came into the league as a terrible shooter. But now, he actually has a much improved 3 pt shot / jumpshot.

With a nice transistion game.

His main weakness is his attitude and lack of leadership....Potential locker room cancer type!

Hopefully, with vets like Melo, Stat and Billups....we should have some stability with team leadership!

We already have promised to pick up his $14mm option for next year. He's definitely going to show and going to play

If that is the case then he is not getting any burn here.

I think it only works with Brewer because of Brewer's length. At 6'9 we have enough length on the floor to bother people with such a lineup. I do think Shawne Williams will get a lot of looks in that lineup too, but strictly for when we need shooting.

My view is Brewer is the third best player we got back and is a salvagable project. He's 24-25 years old and played in a lot of big games in college. If he gets time here he will show his value.

brewer is atrocious and can't shoot the 3. no way he sees a lot of time with MDA.

where's shawne williams?

billups (44% from 3)
fields (42% from 3)
williams (46% from 3)
melo
STAT

that has made the most sense to me since mozgov's name entered the talks. if wil was playing 4 i don't see why melo wouldn't. melo played 4 in the olympics (in MDA's system) and was lethal there.

Williams will get more burn because he know is your no.1 3 pt shooter with Gallo gone. I do think Brewer is gonna make an impact though. He just has to be like Raja Bell and learn than corner 3...

Williams 3pt percentage is bc he is open. Might get more open with melo.
