The devil is in the details. Now that the Carmelo Anthony trade has gone down, what do you think about it?
Great - it was worth it
Okay - it had to be done, but we gave up too much
Horrible - worst trade ever

Hate it on paper. But really have to wait 3 years to know.

Also have to see how our exiled yoots pan out.

Marbury was easy to dislike because he was an ******* coming in.

MElo is mixed, he has grown up a bit with billups showing him the ropes but can't say I like the guy outside of admiring his talent.

Hope he knows what he is getting into. Dude wants to be here but he'll be under a lot of pressure.

Send them to Minnesota for a trade exception.

Not the beat deal we could have made (as far as we know) but it's not like we gave up equal or greater value.

It's OK - had to be done but it cost us too much. We should have help on to something so our roster wasn't decimated. We have no bench and that is going to be big trouble.

What's the difference between the bench before and the bench now

What's the difference between the bench before and the bench now

after Diva/Stat we dont have a starter as good as Chandler, much less a bench player

Before "diva" we weren't as star studded as were are now. What's your point?

I think it's great. I think the Knicks paid a lot. But I think they paid retail. In the MIA/LA Shaq trade, the best player the Lakers got was Odom. In the KG MIN/BOS trade, the best player the Twolves got was Al Jefferson. The young talent worked out. But would I trade the Shaq of then for Odom and Caron Butler of today? Hell no

sorry... I thought the object was to win games. You just paid $200 for a steak at a TGI Fridays that you own and your waitress gave you crappy service, but I guess if your really hungry you can tell yourself it was a good meal.

Knicks blew this one dude... they were in a position of having total leverage and coughed up the farm. Diva is a hell of a player but not only did we overpay on retail, but we bid against ourselves.

We'll be a 50 win team for the next 4-5 years starting next season. Couldn't say that last week.

I don't believe that. We keep our best young player. Got back arguably the most clutch player in the game. It is impossible to procure these types of player, the Knicks did, and I think the available options are significantly more appealing than what would've been available had we kept everyone we gave up.

I look at it like this:
Before we had pieces that could surround 2 star players and you could make a run at a championship.

Now we have 2 star players and less pieces surrounding them.

Gallo and Chandler were 6th man/bench type players to me - but very good ones. Now our bench is pretty sad and we still have no depth. Plus we are really thin up front at the 5 now (we were before but this is much worse).

I think we needed a guy like Melo but we overpaid and the cost will be that we do not have a supporting cast that can help the team win. Maybe there will be more trades or a FA signing that wil change my mind, but the team as constructed right now has some serious problems.
