lets focus on this aspect of the trade a little bit... I read this great article that made me feel a lot better about getting Billups in the short term

http://www.postingandtoasting.com/2011/2/21/2005640/chauncey-billups-appreciation-discussion-post

But i still feel this swap is the worst part of the deal. Why? Because plain and simple... WHAT IF we can't get Paul or Williams????

At least if we had Felton we could resign him... Now it is very possible that we are stuck with NO PG in a few years...

I'm scared ****less right now... any other alternatives to CP3 and Deron? we really went all in... if we cant get a star to come here(again) we are screwed. Not even going to mention front court depth

Felton's also 26, and averaging two more dimes a game than Billups, with that number likely to increase with Amare AND Melo. I would have preferred a deal that only involved NY getting Melo and not any other Denver pieces, but I get that Denver was looking to exact an extremely high price to agree to send Melo where he actually wanted to go.

Billups is a 35 year old veteran who has won a title, finals MVP and doesnt want to be here. There were rumors he would retire if traded here. He's made a lot of money. He did NOT want to be traded, and now he's not only here but he's hear BECAUSE of the Diva. This does not not look like a situation thats going to work out in the Knicks favor in terms of getting something usefull for Billups. Probably the best bet is to find a luxury tax team willing to give us something for his special buyout he's got at the end of it

But who the hell will man the point for the foreseeable future? It's not like the Knicks had a hidden gem of a starting PG quality guy on the bench just waiting for Felton to leave and a disgruntled Billups to arrive and then be bought out. I hate how big the deal got and all of the stuff the Knicks had to take back to accommodate Dolan's impatience.

Time will tell. I don't think Billups is better than Felton, but maybe he's got moe left in the tank.

Get ready to see a LOT of Toney Douglas and Andy Rautins.

You have to hope that Billups buys into whatever MDA sells him (if he doesnt the pro Diva guys can blame the coach) and decides to play hard here.

This has massive chemistry issues written all over it.

And here is the problem in trading every young player and pick you have on the roster... you have nothing left to plug the holes you just created.

This is at the core of Donnie and Mike's take on the situation and trying to exercise patience in getting the best deal for the team without destroying the chemistry that had been built (which of course, you know already). I hope it works out as a fan of the team, but I hate Dolan and the Thomas stink that permeates this entire deal.
