With the latest development, I don't think I can stick with this team. This team will never be able to develop young players, let alone build a contender in the long term based on good drafts, player development, or finding good international talents...

Hiring Walsh was the best thing to happen for the franchise in a decade. I had hopes, high hopes, and I was ready to be patient and let them grow.

As it stands now, I can't take it anymore. Like BRIGGS, Chris2Dudley, martin, andrew, and other long time members of this site, I'm highly disappointed with this trade.

I have no idea what to do now... I just would like to boo that Knicks team first time they hit the floor. Melo had a chance to make us a great team, but he was just greedy and couldn't wait for FA, thus destroying what Walsh had built. I'd love the Garden crowd to express its feelings on the trade, but I have no hope that it will happen... people just like "stars". Welcome Aack Randolph, I'm sure it will be very exciting to see you shoot 30 times per game.

I might follow djsync, who left this team for a less pretigious franchise, but one who had true values. I hate Dolan more than anyone on the face of this planet...

I just don't know what team to root for now... in the East, I can't see myself rooting for the Heat, Bulls, or Heat. In the West, Lakers, Mavericks, and Spurs are way past their primes.

In the end, I might just be done with the NBA. Thank you Dolan !

I'm in the same boat. It's hard for me to root for this team right now.

It is no longer a team but some type of loose agglomeration more fit for Rucker Park than the NBA league.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Will you guys root for an other franchise if that happens, or will you put your interests on other sports ?

When I look at the NBA, I can't see a team I'd like to root for... maybe I'll just become a hater and root for the Brooklyn Nyets

Nah, never a Nets fan. I don't have it in me.

I've always taken a liking to the Warriors but I don't know if I could ever love another team like I love the Knicks. They are first true love.

Based on a lot of the talk, he's back so many of us are gone...or do wait for it to be "official"?

I know, I don't think I could start rooting for an other franchise. It could be easier for me as I live abroad and don't have any geographic roots in NY, but man, I went through the past 10 years watching this team... today's trade is still the biggest blow !

But you guys know what, I'm kinda happy to see your reactions on this board. There are plenty of newcomers excited about the STAT era and all the shine that comes with it, but what I notice is that true long-time posters mostly disapprove what happened recently. It's good to know I'm not alone !

I am in the same boat. I would probably follow the Knicks but not as a die hard. I will follow Gallo, Chandler and Timo. Maybe George Karl will give the keys to Gallo and let him drive the car.

Exactly the same here. I would love to try and like another team. I even tried to get into the Wizards after Zeke took Layden's problem and made it worse. Remember when we figured there was nowhere for him to go but up after Scott? Yet Thomas found new ways to screw up the franchise.

It's completely clear now that Dolan only hired Walsh at Stern's insistence and was just waiting for an excuse to usurp the authority he'd "given" to Walsh. What's worse, it's seems pretty obvious by what's been said and covered int eh media that Thomas provided the guidance based on the type of rash and expensive decisions he made when officially at MSG. Walsh was playing the situation perfectly and if this was the deal that needed to be done at the 11th hour AND he felt it was really best for the team, Donnie would have pulled the trigger as well. Dolan basically castrated Walsh as the teams top executive, when Thomas guiding the blade. It's a crappy and hugely disrespectful circumstance that is hard to swallow at the moment.

I want to enjoy the acquisition of Melo. He's one of my favorite players in the game and he's now a Knicks, but everything about how this was handled over the last week wreaks. Dolan really showed everyone that he's the ass we all thought he was. Daddy needs to take back the keys and give his little boy something else to play with...something with Zeke.

I've been watching a lot of soccer lately. That was my first true love anyway. I might go to that full time and forget "pro" basketball.

I'll still play basketball, because I love that, but this NBA league, I don't know, it's not going too well. It's too starphucked.

I hate this trade, but my loyalty to the Knicks transcends one roster move. I am willing to suspend my judgment about Melo until I see what happens next. If CP3 or Deron join forces, it could prove to have been worth the momentary lapse of reason.

Now, if fatboy retard brings Isaiah back, I will jump off the NBA bandwagon until further notice. I can't stand him and would not be a fan of the Knicks while he is involved.

At this point, the only thing that would make me stay a believer, is if Wlash was resigned. I trust him to find new talents and young players to complement STAT and Melo.

Honestly, now that Dolan has his two toys to play with in STAT and Melo, what reason could he find not to extend Donnie now ? What would he say to the media about that ?

Again, how official does Thomas's return need to be? It seems that he's been waiting to pounce all season and found that he could convince Dolan that Walsh's steady and methodical approach was going to cause the Knicks to miss out on Anthony. Dolan isn't bright enough to create this sense of urgency or act upon it without talking to someone. We know Walsh and Mike would tell him to wait. The only person that would encourage the rashness he displayed is a crappy college coach in Florida.

Disappointed until the winning starts. This was a good deal for the Knicks, it needed to be done. Foundation to greatness is being laid down.

Rule if life:

People who are really "leaving" or moving on don't care enough to announce said intention. Apathy is self-defining.

If you're going to spend the next hours, days, weeks TALKING about not being a fan anymore, you're either trying to make a silly point or fooling yourselves.

The people who are SERIOUS about moving on have already done so.

If you're posting about it endlessly, you aren't and never will.

Oh what a coincidence, you joined one month ago ! Funny how you were not here through the Layden and Isiah years isn't it ? How funny is it for you to give us some lessons about how we should feel on that day !?

Are you suggesting you're not a Knicks fans unless you're registered on UltimateKnicks.com?

Really?

And I'm not telling you how to "feel". You're perfectly justified to feel however you like, and you'd be no more or less right or wrong than I.

What I AM saying is you're upset BECAUSE you're a fan, which means you're STILL a fan, which means you aren't leaving.

There is PLENTY of room for debate on this trade, but a thread dedicated to people proclaiming their intention not to be fans anymore is silly.

Even if some of you managed a few months, if the Knicks made it into the second round and were 1-1 vs Miami heading to the Garden, would any of you truly claim this morning you'd stay away?

I dare any of you...

Hate isn't the opposite of love. Indifference is.

If any of your were indifferent, you wouldn't be here right now talking about it.

Indifferent, apathetic fans are the ones the Knicks are going to lose.

Not you guys.

Don't know what to do now..
