Walsh's leadership should be #1.

He will be missed the most.

No team wins with incompetent management and politics behind the scenes that create chaos. That atmosphere has once again returned to MSG courtesy of James Dolan.

This list doesn't even make sense. Anthony has made the playoffs every year, he is 13-2 vs LeBron, and who says this team can't become a team. It's not like the Gallo-Felton-Moz team had been together for 3 years. Give it time.

I understand everyone is upset, but come on. Anthony is young, Fields is still here, and we have some promising youngsters on the bench. I was sad when I saw we included Mozgov, but looking at the bigger picture I think the trade is a positive for us. Disregarding the fact that Isaiah may have been involved (would hate that).

you forgot also now we have two superstars that needs the ball. It is different than dwayne wade and lebron as they pass the ball. these two we have needs the ball. I am not sure how this is going to work out.

AmsterdamKnicksFan - Donnie Walsh will not sign a contract extension. The frustration is not about something as trivial as wining basketball games. It is about continuity, leadership and franchise loyalty.

Bigger picture?

Dolan made the call on this lopsided trade and that alone should cause you to pause for a moment.

Get ready for playground basketball.

"They took Boston to the Buzzer"? Talk about lowered expectations.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

JW44 - speaking of expectations. How far do you expect the Carmelo/ Billups Knicks to advance in the playoffs?

MisterEarl, I really think it depends on how quickly you can get Melo to play the way He needs to in this offense. I'm all for running iso plays for Carmelo in end of quarter and end of game situations, but in the normal flow of the game, he's got to catch and take some action (shoot/pass/drive). If he catches and holds and Amare's waving his arms then you've got problems.

I see Melo as a super Chandler, a Joe Johnson basically. A lot of it depends on Chauncey buying in as well.

If you see Melo using his talents within the system, then we can beat these teams in the East (except Boston).

JohnWallace44 - who is playing defense?

Other than the hottest rookie in the Gaaaaaaammmmme, Landry Fields, we are going to get lit up inside by quality opponents. We have no center. None. Turiaf is brittle. Stoudemire cannot handle big bodies by himself, Carmelo has NEVER been considered a defensive worker and Billups is 49 years old.

Who got Paul Pierce?

For that matter, who has 7'1 260 pound Andrew Bogut tomorrow night?

This isn't a good basketball team. Kids and immature adults like this deal, basketball fans don't.

It's a dysfunctional cluster **** right now, but a great NBA 2k11 team. Enjoy playing this on your video game consoles, because that's the only place you'll see this team succeed.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

All replaceable, you need to find a new campaign to manage misterearl. I suggest Landry Fields for governor.

VMart - not a bad idea on Fields.

The question remains, who has 7'1 260 pound Andrew Bogut tomorrow night?

This is first and foremost. I dont have the big problem w/ Dolan telling Walsh to make this deal that some people do. Melo is a 26 year old all star and wants to be a Knick and clearly Dolan walked away wanting this guy, so broadway has a new Diva.

Knicks got a good player but it wasnt a good trade because we were in a position of power and totally failed to take advantage. In fact, we got played losing all our prospects, picks and chips that might be used to a) improve from within or b) flip for other better fitting pieces.

That being said Walsh is a good builder, and if he's given the reigns I believe he can balance this team. The question is how long...

The pro Diva guys argued that having Amare made us a win now, and we had to get that 2nd star. Fair points. Problem is by trading literally all our depth and now having zero quality size and depth in the frontcourt we are certainly NOT equipped to win now.

How is going to play center for this playoff team trying to compete not for a title? Where is the size coming to compete w/ Bos? The Heat? The Bulls? The Lakers?

Who is going to play PG? Now that ours is 35+ years old, and doesnt want to play here?

We got the 2nd star, but also undid a lot of luck that Walsh created.

So he should do exactly what Gallo has been doing and be the 3rd option?

EDIT: Are we asking him to play defense too?

Who was the center during the stretch when Knicks were winning at a ridiculous rate, Turiaff. Besides the Knicks were doing center by committee. I feel there is one more deal to be made that will help the Knicks at center.

Who was playing defense before? Mozgov got pushed all over the place. Gallo and Chandler were above average defenders due to their size. Anthony will be able to play up to their level and STAT is a bad defender by choice. He just doesn't want to foul out. STAT may play better defense now because its not as critical if he fouls out now.

Thank You

VMart - you are helping to make the point

"Who was the center during the stretch when Knicks were winning at a ridiculous rate, Turiaff. Besides the Knicks were doing center by committee."

It was a TEAM playing defense. The cohesiveness was based on knowing one another. Wilson Chandler played extra large improved his shot blocking technique.

"I feel there is one more deal to be made that will help the Knicks at center."

One more deal?

What other assets are you proposing to give up?

The point is Mozgov wasn't part of that run. I to wanted to keep Moz but this deal needed to be done for the betterment of the Knicks. As much as I like Chandler, who is a good player this team is in it for now. Once Amare was brought here it became a now team and consistency was what was needed in a big way. The team will be better, like I said there is another deal coming before the trade deadline that will most likely deliver a center for the Knicks who can be a big part of the rotation.

A now team with no depth? That is what you have. Just to be sure, when its time to get Paul or Williams, Fields will be gone too. This is a clusterf$#@@!

Look at Oklahoma, they are building from within. THey are doing it the right way. When needed they add a piece or two and they will be contneders.

NY had good young players, now they don't.
