NYT:
The Knicks have not yet decided whether to keep Brewer or flip him in another deal. They have several other trade possibilities in the works as they approach the N.B.A.’s Thursday trading deadline.

Do we trade for a center?

Signing Earl Baron?

Trading Azabuke?

Do we import Jarome Jordon?

Do we sign Pat Ewing Jr.?

If we do not need to be below the cap at the end of the season, then why not trade Azabuke's expiring contract?

Trade for a defensive/rebounding Center or PF using Azu expiring.
Sign Earl Barron.

Has anyone heard of a team that wants to build with Corey Brewer?

I think we should keep him for now. I think as a perimeter defender he adds a lot of value to the rotation and he has some point forward skills.

D'Antoni needs his forwards to stretch the floor for his system to work, Brewer is cannot fill that capacity.

We'll see about that- watch to see if he starts hitting those corner 3's. He's gotten guys with worse shots hitting those.

I think it's a good idea. Let Wallace be the designated technical guy. Every time Amare Stoudemire gets fouled and doesn't get the call, or Stoudemire gets called for a phantom foul, Rasheed Wallace leaps off the bench and draws a technical.

Will keep Stat from getting his one-game suspension.

Not a bad option, obviously he's had some success here before..I happen to think 6'11" C Marcus Cousin is a much better option that we can get for the same price, probably cheaper (remember Barron should've been on the team this year but he held out for a lot more money than we were willing to offer -- does he try and hold us hostage again, knowing we desperately need a man in the middle right now? He did it before -- don't know about you guys, but I think we've been taken advantage of enough with this whole Melo thing). Right now we have 2 open roster spots I believe -- one should go to Marcus Cousin, the other I'd give to either PF Jeff Adrien or SF/PF DeShawn Sims (since Cousin would help with the rebounding, maybe Sims' overall skill package might be a better option over Adrien)..All 3 of these guys are D-League all-stars and have nothing else to prove at that level--it's time to see what they can do in the pros. They all deserve a chance and we need to restock the bench with some talent. Seems like a good fit to me. Match made in heaven..And I wouldn't stop with these 3: if we can trim the roster even further (I'd convince Dolan that, for the good of the club, Anthony Carter, Shelden Williams, Ro Balkman [Balkman might have to be moved in a trade because of future salary committment--I'd want to remove him to open up the roster spot as well as his future salary] and Roger Mason Jr. should all be waived immediately if not sooner-----come on Jimmy, you went this far, now cough up just a little more coin and lets execute some pro-rated neglible buy-outs and clean up this mess), another 2 DL all-star players, Othyus Jeffers and Joe Alexander, are guys that could help us too..Time to do this up Golden State Warriors style -- we should be looking to infuse the bench with some of the top NBDL talent we can get our hands on..Call me nuts but I actually think that if we executed this plan (jettison the spare parts and infused the bench with young, hungry DL components) we'd have a shot at having an even better bench than before the Melo trade. How 'bout that? Come on, Rasheed Wallace? Gimmie a break. The dude's retired..Time to move on..We're not winning a championship this year, that much is clear..Let's see if we can get a few guys on the quick & cheap that could be part of the future..This is 100% the way I'd go now. If we clean house, bring in superior DL talent like this and then work hard to assimilate them these last 30 games, not only do I think we could make some noise in the playoffs but we're also a leg up on planning for the future as well.

I don't think this is going to happen. Unless it is a 1 year savings where we get a 2012 expiring. The plan is to be ready for the CP3/Deron sweepstakes.

Buike for Sessions? Cleveland would get the expiring but he has 2 more years left in his contract. This affects the CP3/Deron initiative.

A team would only save money on the remainder of his contract. So, less than half of his 3.4 million dollar contract. So, I don't think that is a big deal at all. But, if a team is over the salary cap by 3 or 4 million I wonder if his salary would count against going over since it is insured????

Going forward I wonder if we will resign him for a few years or maybe just next (if he accepts)? We are over the salary cap next year I think, so we can go over more, but we don't want to affect 2012. Then again, I don't see how we can do much in 2012. We'd have to take a chance in thinking that Deron or Paul would come and then not sign any of our players for more than the minimum slot amount. Further, what happens to Fields? He will get his payday but we won't have much room to pay him unless the max that comes here accepts a big pay cut and I don't see that happening. Perhaps there is a 14 million dollar cat that is a FA in 2012...

Interesting that the deal was delayed while the Celtics tried to aquire Brewer. Supposedly trying to find a 3rd team to offload Nate and a 1st. Brewer could be a nice defensive piece to have.

I agree about making the cuts. The Knicks need to utilize the d-league. There are some good players there and it is a no risk high reward scenario. Adrien is a house.
