A trade like this, stripping four starters from a 6 seed playoff team is only possible because we have MikeD. MikeD made the pieces we traded valuable. MikeD makes it possible for Fields to be a rookie of the year candidate.

Now MikeD and his SSOL system is going to have to quickly integrate these new players, in addition to DLeaguers who will be required to play significant minutes. Billups may very well refuse to play. I cannot wait to see Mike work his magic on this squad. I think he's better suited than any other coach in the NBA to make this move work mid-season.

Mark Stein just said we'll likely bring back Earl Barron immediately. I wouldn't be surprised to see others signed off the street. Someone like Alston could end up playing point.

D'Antoni takes a lot of heat, but integrating Melo and Stat with a brand new team in the middle of a playoff race is going to be his biggest test yet. I for one think he's up to the task more than any other coach..

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

It's too bad we couldn't get rid of D'Antoni in this trade. That's ok, Isiah has him on his hit list for not openly supporting his Return. He'll be gone around the same time Walsh is led out by MSG security guards.

LMAO. This topic made me laugh. I hope that was the purpose of it.

Billups made noise earlier that he wouldn't play for either NY area team and wanted to force his way to the Heat.

Childs please - what other coach would be able to put all of these new pieces into a cohesive offense quickly?

I think this trade is the end of D'Antoni. Not because of his coaching but because there is no way Walsh stays after this mess was pushed threw by the owner on his watch. Walsh is the reason the heat hasn't been on D'Antoni. D'Antoni lost his pet player, and his brother's pet player in this deal. I don't think he ever had to face the dysfunction that Dolan can bring to the franchise because Walsh was able to shield him. I think once Walsh leaves it will hit the fan.

I don't think Walsh is going anywhere....but I do think D'Antoni might be in danger. Especially with Phil Jackson leaving LA.

Phil.... Are you kidding.
He will wash his hands 10 times after touching Dolan or Isiah.
No coach or GM with a little bit of self-respect will agree to work for Dolan and Isiah after Walsh/MDA will be gone.
I am not sure why any decent people will continue to root for this organization?
But I think it is always enough idiots to fill 5 MSG areanas in NYC.
