Where does Carmelo Anthony end up by the trading deadline this year?
Knicks for an exorbitant package (Dolan messes it up)
Knicks for a reasonable package (Donnie plays it cool)
Nets
Darkhorse
Doesn't get traded

I am keeping the faith here that Donnie plays it cool and can keep Dolan in check. And that the rookies in Denver are exposed.
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

Everyone voted for what they want (including me), but my second choice would be "Doesn't get traded"

GGAAHHH, I can't help but always be overly optimistic for the Knicks.

Knicks for a reasonable package (Donnie plays it cool) gets my vote.

Realistically hoping we end up trading: Chandler, Gallo, AR, Curry, Pick and NO MORE

Walsh gets fired Thomas is brought back in. He extends Curry for 5 years 100 mil. Then he sends Gallo, Chandler, Fields, Felton, Randolph and 4 number ones ( all ours every other year) for Melo and puts a call in for Stephon Marbury

This is such a ridiculously surreal situation that I'd believe is the plot of a silly soap opera than actual professional negotiating. This Melo-Drama has been as bad as The Decision and if half what has been reported is true, then NBA negotiating is a joke.

What will happen in the end? One would believe that the Knicks will give up something but won't overpay. Donnie Walsh will handle this the right way, Denver will be happy with a fair deal and Dolan will extend Donnie. But only in NY can an owner with no basketball IQ would trust the man that made a laughing stok of himself and the franshise, and use his advice while overruling the guy that got them in a decent spot and give the power to an unprofessional franchise with rookie GMs that believe in lopsided videogame-like trades only to be able to say they won the trade. Really, if "The Decision" tuned out many NBA fans, this will do it for many more in NY.

I still have faith in Donnie. I think he'll be able to convince Dolan to let him finish the deal and not give in to everything the Nuggets want. In the end I just have to believe that Melo and his people prefer NY and will not sign with NJ. Donnie will then be able to make a reasonable offer and Denver will in the end accept.

I'm changing my vote - total starphuck. If this goes down like it looks like it may - exorbitant package bidding against no one but ourselves, Isiah back at the Garden, and the Knicks once again capped out with no youth - I'm going to turn it off. Still a Knicks fan, but in hibernation. And who wants to try to take down Cablevision with me? Anyone?

I posted almost the same vote last week - I think Melo will have to opt out if he wants to be a Knick and win.

I don't think the Nuggets have ANY intention of trading him to the Knicks. The Knicks package is CLEARLY better than the Nets package at this point.

I think Denver will try until the last minute to push the New Jersey trade and Melo will keep sending signals to Jersey that he won't sign there.

I think this all ends with a whimper - Melo won't get traded. I think he WILL decide to go into Free Agency.

The most concerning aspect of all this is that I think Walsh is done here. Dolan overruled him and has been consulting Isiah.

Dolan is a fool. The revitalization of the Knicks ends the second Walsh walks out and Isiah walks in. And that may have already effectively happened.

We won't get Melo and Dolan has destroyed the foundation to do anything further.

Dolan, please leave.
