not really talked about as a potential C trade prospect--but for the MDA system--he seems almost perfect with Amare.

Phoenix has 3 C's who play--do they want to relieve themselves of payroll?

Grant Hill and Channing Frye for Azu's insurance paid contract mason ending contract and Randolph +3mm in cash

Team

C-Channing Frye
F Amare stoudemire
F Danillo Gallinari
G Landry fields
G Ray felton
C Tim Mosgov
F Grant Hill
G/F Will Chandler
G TD

That puts us on another level for this years playoff.s

Wasn't channing a knick once?

In the end did he fulfil his potential? A solid pro at a tough position?

Once here can we blast him for not rebounding well and being soft?

7 footer with a good shot. Bring it!

Lets be realistic here. Suns are playing a lot better and I think have reached .500 ball they are trying to make a playoff push, so I don't see them making a play for Azu.

Were a good team as is. what happened if we had a C upgrade + a significant bench upgrade? Instead of ripping the team apart for one guy--how about address areas of concern? Channing frye could be awesome with amare and Grant Hill is an ENORMOUS bench upgrade. The differential and upgrade would surprise people--we would be very tough.

They have + road games and their home winning % isnt very good. They have to jump three teams. Getting randolph to replace Hill and that money might be very attractive to a very cheap owner. Dont underestimate cheap people!

I could see doing a deal for Frye, but at the end of the day, where is he upgrading you?

If you put him on the floor, who are you taking off, and what is he giving you above the guy you took off the floor?

He is Center sized, but doesn't guard like one last time I checked. If you have Wilson guarding a big, versus Frye guarding a big, is there a difference?

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Frye would be great here. A jump shooting center to get out of Amare's way. I can see him doing a lot of damage at the corner 3s.

I don't know about this one...If anything, I'd look to pull off something like this after we secured Melo, not before..Why add Channing's long-term salary when it wouldn't make us a championship level team (dude's on the hook for a full MLE-type contract until 2015)? A championship is what we're supposedly striving for, not mediocrity..Same problems persist with this guy btw -- still not a good rebounder or defender and that's what we need more than anything up front considering our team deficiencies..Been there done that with Frye -- personally I think we can get a better center in draft..If we don't get Melo, the last thing we'd need is another soft outside shooter..I agree with Vmart too -- PHX is 27-27 and only a game or two out of the top 8 out west. AR would probably be intriging for them but in the end of the day they're probably better off keeping Hill and Frye and making a run at the playoffs..

We could enhance this team through the D-league if we really wanted to w/o adding salary that doesn't necessarily make us that much better..

Looked up his stats for this year, looks like he is having a career year. Blocks are up to a little over 1 a game, rebounds not too bad at 6.5, and he is shooting well from 3.

I think he would make a for a nice backup C/PF, not really sure him as a starting C really works for us. We need a rebounder / defender / shot blocker at C.

He would however greatly improve our bench, certainly better than Earl Barron.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I think here Frye would be very good. Adding a 6-11 245 pd guy would help us. Most games we played with WC @ PF and Amare @ C. the bottom line it would tremendously upgrade a porous position and create more space for Amare. And then Grant Hill for Williams? Wed be much much better. The Phoenix owner is cheap 3mm azus contract--another 1mm a high end prospect in randolph who can play PF there at a much cheaper number than Frye might be appealing. Gortat should start

Never liked Frye... too soft defensively. Earl Barron is a cheap alternative and does a better job on the boards and blocking shots.

I don't want to do anything that might validate anything Isiah did in NY. Besides, we were waiting for him to develop a post game, still hasn't happened from what I've seen. I want the Knicks to get a big man who you can throw the ball to inside and do some damage.
