It feels good to be a Knicks fan again. This season has been a pleasant suprise thus far and I'm excited for the second half of the season.

STAT is a franchise player, leader and a force. Both Chandler and Gallo seem to have taken a step forward, Felton has been good at the PG and Fields looks like the steal of the draft. The season has been a roller coaster ride but is to be expected with such a young team.

28 games left people and even if they split, we're looking at the 1st winning season is 9 years.

The best part is that the toughest part of our schedule is done with, now it's smooth sailing, look for the Knicks to dominate the NBA league after the break. I'm talking top-5 team over the second part of the season.
WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Thank God we are respectable. We still aren't anywhere near being a contender though. But we have improved dramatically thanks to Amare, Felton, and Donnie.

They have delivered so far on their potential. Team has demonstrated ability, chemistry and are improving on defense.

Blow out losses are few and they are settling into their roles.

There are a few steps you take before you can truly contend.

Knicks are in the first phase. They are actually doing it!

I hope they can continue to make progress on and off the court!

After the last decade, I'll take "mediocre". As long as the elevator continues to go up, of course.

Can somebody post the rest of the schedule, would like to see if the rest of the way really is "easier" than average.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

i'd say decent chance for 17-11. that would have us finish at 45-37.

We're in the playoffs as is, and well situated to land another star. I'm pretty satisfied with that for the moment.

Above .500 record, check. Playoff contention, check. Relevance, check. I would say it is progress!

considering how weak the east is..we have taken baby steps, we had a host of bad losses, and less then a hand full of quality wins. Take into account we had very few injuries, we should at least be 5 games better then we are.

The record is ok, but a 1st round knock off is lookiing more and more likely. Some say getting to the playoffs is a bonus and gains experience, well there's been a lot of teams that made it as a 6,7,8th seed and not even make the playoffs the following year.

I'm sorry, but anything less then 48 wins, is avg at best

coming from 29 wins isn't average pretty good?

Gotta get to average before you can exceed it.

disagree. we committed big bucks to one individual, who has delivered big-time. we have no other large commitments, have gotten improvement from many of our young players, performance from several new additions (ray, fields, williams, mozgov) and are positioned to open up some cap space. all this one year removed from being a 29-win team. .500 and up and a playoff appearance is a success to me for this year.

Becoming an average team is a huge step from a 29 win season. I think and feel the Knicks are heading down the right path. It feels great to watch a game and know they will comepete and have a shot to actaully win the game. Yeah we had some bad beats but had some quality wins as well but the team we're watching now is far from the finmished product.

I agree to some extent - this team has shown a lot of potential, and I know I slam MDA alot, he deserves credit.

But way too many head scratchers where this team lays an egg against a team we should beat, especially with how they've played at times against quality opponents.

That- or sometimes this team simply plays way above its head.

Its young, yes. But a weak conference and tons of potential.

I wonder if we had a different coach (a Scott Brooks or a Tom Thibodeau) whether we might not be more consistent with effort and wins - and have those extra 5 or so wins we should have.

Mediocre results but we have a base to build from. I feel if we got rid of the coach and made some innovative low risk high reward tweaks we can really do something. How the time period to SF passes by at least until season's end. I'd like for us to KEEP OUR OPTIONS OPEN as the attention whore saying goes

we have a roster of solid young talent. Williams, Mosgov, Gallo, Chandler and Fields have all improved as players and excelled in their roles. We are the 6th seed starting 2 rookies with the 4th or 5th youngest team in the league. We have large cap space, desirable assets and a favorable 2nd half schedule. There is a stretch of like 8 games vs. the Pacers, Bucks, Raps, and other < .500 teams all in the east.

I predicted 45 wins and it looks like we are right on pace for that. The real coup is we look like we will get the Bulls first round and we have had some success there. Felton seems to play Rose very well and Chi has had a hard time dealing with our wings and our spacing.

If we are able to keep most of our key young core AND add Melo this season is a huge success. Regardless of the roster beating the Bulls in round one would accomplish the same.

This whole season is a B+
