Isiah Thomas did not deny he was unofficially consulting with Knicks owner James Dolan on the Carmelo Anthony situation and suggested standing pat won't win a championship.

"Everyone agrees they need to keep improving to get to a championship level,'' Thomas said on Miami radio tonight with Sid Rosenberg. "I don' think anyone's saying this is it. I do think the organization wants to improve to get better and get to the next to level. But for me to speculate on this Carmelo situation, I just don't think it would be proper to insert myself in such a public way knowing what I know.''

But then Thomas added, " In order to get to a championship level, which every team aspires to get to, you try to get the best players and try to get as many as you possibly can and see if you can win it.''

The Post reported earlier this month Dolan has not exercised the final year on president Donnie Walsh's contract because he still has Thomas on his radar. When asked if he'll be employed by the Knicks in the next five years, Thomas coyfully said,

"You ask me to be as honest as I can and I will be brutally honest with you,'' Thomas said. " I don't think anyone will say where they will be five years from now. But wherever I am in five years, I will be physically and emotionally prepared for whatever challenge is presented to me.''

The ****roach pops his out once again.

It's unfortunate that we have to be subjected to this torture, but Dolan loves the guy. I don't understand it, but for whatever reason Dolan has this crazy man crush on Isiah and trusts him more than anyone else. He only fired him cuz he had no choice. I think we forget that Dolan was Okaying everything Isiah did. He actually wanted Isiah to make the moves that he made. Remember that Dolan didn't want a rebuild, so he as much to blame for the Layden and Isiah eras as anyone.

I think he still holds a grudge against Donnie for not getting Lebron. How else can you explain the vote of no confidence Dolan has given to Walsh despite all the work he's done. I think Dolan feels if he had Isiah for the whole presentation process, he would've gotten Lebron. I'm sure Isiah has convinced Dolan that is the case now with Melo too.

Imagine how awesome it would be if Prokhorov were our owner. Instead of Fatboy McChubbyton. Wow...

Isiah's got nothing better to do with his time and enjoys consulting. The person to hate is Dolan. He actually holds the keys to the franchise's future.

That's a bit extreme, and you'd feel terrible if that really happened.

But if his house did burn down, and he decided to move to China, that would be fine.

I don't hate Isiah's moves as much as most of you. I do feel like he's a slimeball though and needs to be more respectful of his former boss (Donnie).
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

If Isiah is such a great recruiter of NBA players and has all this street cred, please tell me why FIU is 9-16 and dead last in the SUN BELT CONFERENCE! Please tell me why we have to worry about this guy coming back and taking over our team? I know the answer because our scumbag owner is tuned into the mothership and actually thinks he knows what he is talking about. There is a reason why Joe Dumars has stayed as far away from Isiah as humanely possible. It's too early for me to be this aggravated. God I hate Isiah so much.

As soon as something happens Berman runs to Isiah, Marbury or some other disgruntled former player. Worst writer in the biz.

I hate Isaiah and I hate Dolan even more.

Isaiah Thomas never involved with the Knicks again: GREAT.
Knicks winning a chip with Amare and Melo: AMAZING.
Dolan selling the Knicks to new ownership: PRICELESS!

+1 on both counts. The second I saw that this article was from the Post I knew it was Starberman.

How could you hate a guy who just wanted to win by any means, I didn't approve of a lot of the moves IT made, but I certaintly don't think he set out to ruin the knicks.

To me his philosophies on builing a contender are far fetched, and has zero margin for error. he siad "But then Thomas added, " In order to get to a championship level, which every team aspires to get to, you try to get the best players and try to get as many as you possibly can and see if you can win it.''

Thats his way of thinking, get all the talented players (at any cost), put them on the court and hope the mesh well. That may work, it's a short cut and a risky one, but it may pay off, if it doesn't your up ****s creek which is where he ended up.

Nobody could argue that the guys he brought in where not talented, but they also had other flaws that he obviously didn't take into considerations.

I'll say it again, we all have had or have someone we deal with that your other friends and family think is a a..hole..
