he's got a rare combo of physical tools, already present skills, work ethic, desire and passion for the game. If Eddie Curry had Mosgov's focus and work ethic he would be Shaq. This stuff matters and counts. At this point it looks like Mosgov is a nice fill the stat sheet type center with nice skills and great size. A 12ppg, 10 rebound, 2 blocks, shoot 55% in 28-32 minutes type of guy, and thats the down side. The upside? Well I would say its pretty good... leave it at that
So the question for me for you and Bip and everyone is this: is he good enough of a defensive C to cover the mistakes and weaknesses of Amare, Melo to get the Knicks past second round?
I think his downside is 10/8/1.5 and he should pan out towards 14/10/2 at 35 minutes. I am most impressed with his motor, willingness to get better and 15" jumpshot.
I dont know but he's certainly the best candidate. Who's better thats even a remote possibility? Dalembert? Thabeet? Your talking a VERY hard role to fill. Defensive athletic skilled 7 footer. Look around the league.
Mos has confidence issues and gets down on himself, but your right, he's got a great motor, skills and work ethic.
If you think about it the future hinges on Mos as much as any player we have for those reasons. Its possible he can fail, but when he did already what happened? He worked harder and came back better. If thats not the sign of a guy who can make it in this league what is?
He's no softy... tell you that.
I really think the key to competing for a title is get Melo while keeping Mos and Gallo. Thats the mix of size and skill the GREAT teams have.
Yes... Mos has shown me enough to make that investment in terms of patience and keeping the position open enough for him to keep those minutes.
