Why cant he help the team defense in the first half--how many times do we give up 60 points? Just give him instructions to play tough D and rebound--be opportunistic on the O--be aggressive but stay in control--use your skills in control and you get consistent minutes rest of the year.

We need a conduit on D--Randolph can help.

I'd like to see Randolph on a greyhound bus to Minny. At first I didn't mind him taking jumpers because I figured he would start taking it to the rim at some point but he isn't doing that even with a clear path, in garbage time. Too easy for him?

I think he had the length, quickness, and athletic ability to become a lockdown defender. However, can he hurt his value? Especially if TWOVLES are really willing to give a pick for him...

I would like to see that too

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Randolph would help, but not nearly as much as you imagine he would. Plus he would likely hurt us in other areas that he's still weak. We need a Nasty rebounder/defender and Randolph is too weak to really be that effective against the likes of the Celts, Magic or Lakers. Ultimately we need to find a permanent solution and that will take time.

We always do this. We get into a season and then start to want to make fast changes as if you can easily fix a team and make it a contender. This is a process. We have one centerpiece and now we have to hope we can lock down another. Then you go from there.

Outside of that first shot where he missed badly, I thought he looked pretty good last night in the 5 mins or so that he played..Active. A little spring in his step..We've done such a terrible job with this kid, it's not even worth commenting on anymore.

No thanks. I'd like to see those minutes go to other players that can contribute to wins. Don't look now but Philly is nipping on our heals.

Make up your mind Briggs. Are you trying to win games or build the confidence of our youth? Playing AR 15 will only help AR. It will not help the Knicks win games this year.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

good luck. MDA's too stubborn to change his approach. his retort would be something like "giving up 60 ain't bad if you can score 63 ok?" he'd rather play billy walker, at least he can hit the corner 3!!!!!! corner 3 is worth more than 2!!!!! that is the way thinks.

i agree. use him the exact same way shawne williams is used in the trap. AR seems like he'd be perfect. he's longer and more athletic than shawne, who does a good job of disrupting the O.

MDA's too busy drawing up PnR's to get an open corner 3. don't bother him with defensive suggestions.

I agree. It is like his fate has been set for quite awhile. I just don't get it. A team like the Lakers has so much height. The Knicks need another big in the rotation. It is pretty frustrating.

"AR seems like he'd be"
"tell him to just play d"

You guys are acting like they lock him in a basement between games.

Don't you get it yet?

They ARE telling him to focus on defense.

He only "seems" like because he's not.

Give up on AR or give up on this year.

CHOOSE.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

I don't know if they are telling him anything. The guys ahead of him, Walker and Williams get minutes because they can hit the three. Last year guys in Randolph's position made reference to not being communicated with.

If D'Antoni were any other coach, he might bench some of the guys that aren't getting it done, and start AR & maybe even Curry to send a message.

you assume that MDA talks to his players. he probably tells AR to practice the corner 3 just in case. who knows what is said. if you look at AR in garbage time and at his game log last year -- and given the knicks glaring need for size and rebounding -- its hard to think he would HURT us.

he's been completely mishandled so who knows.

Williams plays great defense. Douglas is our back up point and plays defense. Moz is contributing. Chandler and gallo.

We loved the van gundy and Riley 8 man rotations.

What is the love affair with AR? Did Billy walker play significant minutes last night that I missed?

We know the coaches talk to the players, Douglas and moz are examples of that. Shawne Williams as well.

I need more than last year highlights PRE-INJURY to justify taking minutes from others.

The kid did show flashes last night, but that was a) against laker scrubs and b) was all offense.

If he gets in and focuses 100% on defense only while he's in, then give him more minutes. But to shoot long twos on his first touch makes me think he's only thinking about getting his and not a) moving the ball and b) defense.

It's not Nelson, it's not dantoni it's all Randolph.

Sorry guys. When he goes to Denver and doesn't play it will be the next coaches fault.

This is why Sloan retired. Players not accepting their roles in today's NBA and fans calling for end of the bench players when the team shows signs of not going undefeated.

These were all the same posts during our winning streak.

It's painfully obvious this has nothing to do with this year's Knicks and everything to do with basically wanting to see AR play.

Well, I'm not ready to give up on the season.

We play to win the games, not to pump up the value of a kid that doesn't want to fill a role of young canny light but wants to be Lamar odom east.

All I ask is he play without shooting a jumper.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Not playing Douglas last year until Walsh traveled with the team on the March road trip was a pretty big topic on this forum and in the media. I agree that Moz is getting coaching.

15 minutes a night is not going to effect our W-L totals all that much, but it could do wonders for AR's confidence & grasp of the system... we've seen Mozgov go from completely clueless at the beginning of the season to only partially clueless now that he's getting playing time on a regular basis & yet people already think he's an untouchable... with Turiaf out it makes all the sense in the world to play AR, but MDA will never do it... he'd rather see Mozgov grab 1 rebound in the entire 1st half than play AR just out of principle

AR has elite rebounding skills. We've seen it in short bursts. MDA's biggest failure is not figuring how to use this kid. He needs to play.
