TMS, if Melo-Palooza was not out there would there be such a panic to make a trade?Maybe one to address out needs. That is where we should go if the price for Melo is too high.
Gotta ask you TMS, is there a price too high for you where you walk away?
personally i draw the line when it comes to giving up all 3 of our top young players to get Melo, these are not ordinary circumstances we're dealing with here... Denver has no other real options but to deal w/the Knicks... i think a reasonable offer for both sides is to give them their choice of any 2 of our 4 young guys (Gallo, Fields, Wilson, AR) & then whatever other scrap filler they want in terms of cash, expirings & TD, Mozgov or Walker in exchange for Melo... that gives them a good package of young talent & cap space & prevents us from having to completely gut the roster to get a player we might very well be able to sign this summer for nothing... i am willing to sacrifice 2 out of the 4 young guys to get Melo here now rather than risk waiting this out... i think the Nuggets would do well to accept that kind of offer rather than taking the risk that Melo will leave for nothing too.
if DEN is not going to be reasonable then i am fine with holding onto our cap flexibility & weighing our options this summer... if we still can't get Melo in free agency then there are players out there that i have in mind that i would want to pursue, but none of them appeal to me nearly as much as the thought of having Melo playing next to Amare does at this point.
