If Donnie was so great he would have gotten us the #1 pick that year and it would have been nice to have gotten Blake Griffin

come on, we all thought Curry was ours once Minny took Flynn at 6.

All the reports I had read said GS was not going with a Guard at 7. Knick fans were getting so excited to get Curry, i still remember. Then like a ton of bricks they announced that Steph was going to GS at 7.
Getting Jordan Hill was the saddest pick and you could even see on the face of Donnie Walsh after the draft how much of a shock it was to him that they didn't get Curry.

What's the point of this type of lament? Yeah, it would have been great to have won it all in '99 too, wouldn't it? Or maybe we could have won the lottery several years back and drafted Lebron. That would've been awesome, right? Someone explain to me why these types of threads are NOT useless.

i struggle with seeing the point of this post.

we didn't pick there, so that's how it goes.

hey, if we picked one higher in 2008 we could have had kevin love or could have taken oj mayo, which might evoke differing responses from fans today, versus both players' rookie years, where mayo was the more valued player.

the only critique i might have is that the knicks may have hyped curry up leading him to get picked higher.

however, don nelson was gm for golden state who most thought weren't going to take a guard.

who would have thunk the t-wolves would take 2 pg's either. we might have had flynn...excited now?

we also passed on holiday who some are liking more and more.

at this point...spilt milk...

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

this is the guy we should have picked in that draft & the one i really thought (hoped) they would take... currently averaging 20 ppg on 61% shooting the past 4 games his scoring averages have improved every month as the season goes along, this isn't no 2 week fluke anomaly... hasn't developed a 3 pt shot but he makes up for it by getting to the FT line 5 times a game he's 7th in the NBA in FT attempts this year amongst SG's just behind Manu G... once he develops a 3 pt shot he's gonna be a 22-25 ppg scorer easy.

The Raptors can distance themselves from their present pain one way -- by holding onto one of their stars for awhile. This brings us to DeRozan -- a potential savior in the making who one day will have a decision to make.

More than Andrea Bargnani, a soft jump-shooting center who gets five rebounds a game, DeRozan is the Raptor with the most star-upside (at least until we see more from rookie Ed Davis). DeRozan is physically gifted and gives off flashes of brilliance, which often compensate for an inconsistent jumper and occasional funks.

"He's also a hard worker, somebody who wants to be great," said Triano, "and that's why he'll get there someday."

He averaged 11.5 points per game in November, 15.9 ppg in December and 18.5 ppg in January. His all-around game remains under construction, which is why he's unable to put the brakes on the Raptors' slide. Yet DeRozan is only 21 and just starting to tap his talents.

"It's been hard at times because of the losing but I feel I'm starting to come around," he said. "[I'm] just trying to get better every game."

If Donnie was so great Kiki Vandeweghe would have been ours in the 1980 draft.

We missed on him by one pick too.

Revisionist history...say we did draft Stephen Curry, and he performed similarly to how he did in GS (stats wise).

Would that have swayed LeBron to join NY?

Note that Curry is also an Akron, Ohio product and good friends with LeBron. And after his rookie season, he was considered one of the up and coming points, and he had the shooting ability to complement LeBron perfectly. Not to mention we'd also have Gallo. Add in Amar'e...

Curry
Fields
LeBron
Amar'e
Mozgov

with Gallo as our 6th man...could've been a contender this year.

FUCK GOLDEN STATE AND DON NELSON

Steph Curry will be a top 15 NBA player, miles ahead of Jennings who is very overrated since he has no shooting touch
