What is the purpose in you averaging just 6 rebounds a game the past 7 games and why did you have only 3 rebounds in one of those games? I can live with you not being able to see anything but the hoop, even if a guy had a gun to your head, when you're driving to the basket. OK fine. I'd like to see improvement there, but I'll accept that as a weakness. However, your inconsistent rebounding is unacceptable and it has be stepped up, ESPECIALLY since we are a weak rebounding team.

Dear Allanfan20,

I don't like to rebound, I would rather spend my time on the court gesticulating and yelling at refs. I'm here to score points, rebounding is for lesser men.

Your mate,
Amar'e

i hope and think if moz continues to play more min amare will be back his natural position of power forward...both his offensive play (better shot selection less turnover going to basket) and rebounding/defensive play should be get a lot better with moz on floor..

Newsflash, Amare isn't that good of a rebounder. Plus he gets lazy. Still, he should be getting around 8. 3 boards is entering Brook Lopez territory lol

You mean the Brook Lopez, star center of the New Jersey Nets? Man if only we had a front court presence on his level, maybe we could attract the interest of free agents like Carmelo Anthony during the next off-season. I WISH the Knicks had Brook Lopez.

I actually like Lopez, but his rebounding numbers are pathetic.

Dear Allanfan,

I doubt Amare actually reads this forum.

how can this team be a rebounding team in this systeam unless you don't have relentess rebounders..

Spread offense leaves all five guys beyond the arc when the shots go up, so offensive rebound are ridiculouslly tough, unless you have a guy who crashes the boards ( a mind set) like fields and Lee. plus we luanch a lot of three's and need to get down court to set up defensively

On the defensive end, we got guy's ready to run down court for a fast break, as oppose to securing a rebound..

he's averaging his career #'s rebounding wise... this is the player we were getting when we signed him... he has never been an elite rebounding bigman... would be nice to see him step up when his team needs rebounding but he has to expend a ton of energy trying to carry the offense.

Give the guy a break. He's not a great rebounder. We know that. Never has been. Hopefully, he works on it during the offseason.

He's still playing at an MVP level -- so much better than any of us could have reasonably expected. His defense, passing and leadership are much improved over last season -- after how many years in the league, he's still getting better.

This is like picking at Michelangelo because it hurts your neck to look up at the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

actually you have a good point; we shouldn't expect perimeter players to be rebounders. and this is a team that shoots a lot of 3s...

I figure nine rebounds for a guy that blocks 2+ shots and scores 26 pts is pretty good.

i understand what Allanfan is saying he'd like to see our best player step up & do better than 6 rebounds in games when we're getting killed on the boards... i think the fact we've been playing so many small lineups has contributed to Amare's lack of ability to grab rebounds in several games this year... hopefully if Mozgov steps up & takes over the starting role fulltime, he can provide some balance & help on the boards.

From what I see Amar'e is often caught out of position trying to help on D. It could be part of the problem. Still he's just not one of those guys that gets after rebounds and as a team we don't have anyone except maybe Fields that has that hunger for the ball. To be honest I can't kill Amar'e too much tho i'd love to see him board more, but he's done so much to help this team that I can live with it. Just let Donnie work to find another rebounder down the line and keep working with Moz to improve his rebounding.

Dear Amar'e.

You get a free pass for rebounding at your usual rate because you single handedly brought this franchise back to respectability.

And no one else had anything to do with that. If we were without a coach, no coach at all, we would have 40 wins right now.

Correct. Last time I saw Amar'e rocking a Suns jersey, Gallinari, Wilson, and MDA were consistently losing.
