Knicks 'Getting A Feeling' For Trade Possibilities
Feb 06, 2011 23:51 PM EST

The Knicks are reportedly having conversations with the Nuggets and Wolves on Carmelo Anthony.

"I don't think we have anything going, but we're getting a feeling for possibilities," Knicks president Donnie Walsh said on Sunday. "We have a better feeling for what's going to happen."

The Knicks are trying to negotiate a deal for Anthony that wouldn't include Landry Fields and/or Danilo Gallinari.

"Denver doesn't have much of a choice," said one Knicks source. "Carmelo has told them since the summer that he wants to end up in New York."

"I don't feel good or bad," Walsh said. "These things take two to tango. But we're out there looking and seeing if we can do something. Some of it is not real big, trying to fill in the blanks within our own team."

19 days.........

The Eddy era will soon be over.

Minny should try to get Turiaf from us. The leadership and bench support is something they could use.

Hate to lose him but..........

Hate to lose him? The guy can't stay on the court for more than 2 or 3 games at a time. We wouldn't be losing much.

I seem no one learned anything from last year.

Donnie Walsh has been pretty straight forward when it comes to comments. Reading into his quotes is pointless.

Based on past history if we had anything going he wouldn't have made a comment at all.

Mosgov specifically noted how Ronny pushes the team in practice, especially him, and supports the team during the game. Right now, we need this kind of player development.

That's not anything critical, it's not something we can't live without.

Ronny is a flamboyant blowhard who craves attention.

Not sure if we are close or not on the Melo front but I was at the game yesterday and I think we need Ronny to come back and help share some minutes in the frontcourt with Moz and STAT. If we do snag Melo before the deadline he needs to help on the boards because that is definitely a big weakness for us.

yeah that's always been a weakness for us. i think we get out-rebounded by like 18-20 a game. but what really hurts us is letting opponents get offensive rebounds—giving them 2nd or 3rd opportunities which results to points.

Turiaf is good for the Knicks both on and off the court. Should not play more than 20MPG, though.
