So I was playing around on the espn trade checker

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4m6nnga

Watching espn the lakers mentioned they may make a trade.
Pardon the interruptions mike Wilbon said, maybe something to shake them up
Phil Jackson playing attest on pierce while he limped up and down the court
Turiaf an ex laker that brings energy
The emergence of t-mobile mozgov
Witnessed the raw athleticism of Randolph ripping down boards
Needing to release chandler to get melo and the inability of denver to get a good trade offer

Knicks send turiaf to the lakers for artest
- lakers get shake up, Knicks take years off laker salary

Knicks send curry, anthony Randolph and Chandler to nuggets for melo
- Chandler and Randolph combined should be enough.

Knicks lineup:
Stat, gallo, artest, melo, Felton
Williams, Moz, Douglas and fields

Lakers move odom into the starting lineup
Denver gets cap relief and the something for melo
Walsh gets gm of the year
Knicks beat spurs in finals

A man can dream.

Let the bashing begin :-)

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Artest is still crazy and we don't need that distraction right now. We don't have enough veteran leaders to control him like LA.

Also, LA is not trading an important starter for a backup.

They'll find a way to get younger and more dangerous; they almost always pull shenanigans.

Something like Artest for Granger or Iggy wouldn't shock me.

honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers offered Bynum for Melo. The Lakers don't have an heir apparent to Kobe and something tells me he'd sign an extension in LA.

Elevating Lamar to a starter and bringing the energetic turiaf off the bench ads to their team if they think artest isn't able to go
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Artest seems like he is on to many meds. Dude talks spacey and plays without the fire.

they got their title but they miss Reezy.

No thank you. All of the chemistry that has built up this season would be risked with Artest's arrival. Also- the last thing we need to do is give up size for more SF's.

Artest?? Are you crazy, because he is! That and a stone's throw from Queensbridge is a recipe for disaster.

ding ding ding ding! Why are we taking a quote from ESPN about the lakers making a move to shake things up, and spinning it our way?

Please- I could totally see the Lakers making this kind of move, and Denver accepting it. Heck, the Lakers could do it without the extension from Carmelo and simply expect, rightly so, that he would re-up over the summer.

I wouldn't be surprised if LA made a run for Melo. I don't know if Denver would want Bynums contract though. He's always hurt.

Artest is certifiable. Let's not try to fix what ain't broke. I like his defense and energy, but he's too much of a ? in the sanity department.

No, there's no question. The man thanked his shrink after Game 7.

On a related note: Ron-Ron apparently wants out.

Wow so much negativity around possibly the best defensive player in the league. I would Love to get Artest, of course its no goodif he is injured but that's a different issue. Lakers just won a chip with this dude and you all sound like we are poised for eternal greatness w/omajor trades, and we are not.

Artest from a few years ago maybe. Honestly he's garbage now. He's not even that good of a defender anymore and he's had his shooting struggles.

Arest playing in New York City would be bad news. I wouldn't give him very long to do something very very stupid.

i think Artest would be great as a Knick... bring back a lot of the old toughness we used to have in the 90s... but it's not gonna happen, at least not until this whole Melo drama gets settled.

Artest isn't as quick as he used to be. Not that I watch a ton of laker games but he certainly looks really average defensively and he's not going to help offensively with 8 points per game at 40%
