How could Gallo, Chandler, Fields, Felton, and the other players not think about it. They may think that the better they play the quicker they will be gone. Their consentration is gone and they have a don't care swagger. The short rotation is also killing them. The sooner the Melo-drama is over you will see a change in the team. That is who ever is left on the team.

I think it affects the players mostly Chandler and Gallo. Fields I think is just happy to be in the NBA right now and making the most out of it. For some reason I just don't see him as a player that would take getting traded hard. Chandler I think feels like he found a role on the Knicks and probably with his contract year coming having to adjust to a new system might leave money on the table if his stats were to come down due to trade. Gallo has stated that he wants to be a Knicks and probably feels like he is going to lose his shield which is D'Antoni if he were traded so he would probably take it the hardest. Felton I doubt is worried the Kicks are pretty weak at PG and he has played real well but next year he will be worried since it will be contract year and CP3 and Williams will be FAs.

If you were asked the same question every day, how would it feel?
Donnie Walsh is irritated. It carries over into everything and suddenly guys are playing tight, trying to avoid mistakes, instead of enjoying the game.
The trade deadline cannot get here quickly enough.

i was saying this last night. i think it is weighing on them. they have the internet - they see the reports the same way we do.
i think it's going to lead to a spiral. i see the team falling back under .500 in the next few weeks. something is off.
i wonder if some of the players feel betrayed that amar'e is texting melo, telling him to come. that's got to be an insult to the guys who know they'll be leaving if melo comes. trust on a team is a tricky thing.

Not to forget to mention they see the reporters who report it and are always in their ears.

yup.
i think this is actually potentially season-derailing at this point.

There is nothing that says a team has to wait for trade deadline to make any deal. Knicks should take note of this downward trend and make a deal sooner rather than later.

Make which deal? the Melo deal? It's NOT up to the Knicks when to make that deal - the Nuggets are going to ride this out until the last possible minute.
Another deal? That takes them out of the Melo pursuit.
The team is in limbo - which I think is taking its toll on this very young team.

absolutely right; if this is the real reason for the slump.

the idea that the knicks can just conjure up a trade when they need to is pretty ridiculous. you guys are aware that the other team has to be willing to deal, right?

Well any deal that Walsh thinks should be made of course. I understand that deals can also happen any time when teams have agreement.

Not to be coldhearted but these guys better get used to it. Unless you're a franchise player, that's life in the NBA. It's a tough travel schedule, you're away from your family a lot. You can be benched at anytime. You can be traded. You don't always get along with your teammates. But you're paid millions of dollars to be a professional and play though it. And that's what the good ones do.

I agree with this - but let's not forget that this is a YOUNG YOUNG team. Outside of Amar'e and Ray and Turiaf - there's an average age of what, 22 years old? Gallo 21, Wilson 22, Landry 22, Toney 23, Shawne 24, Walker 24. This is a young team.

Yes it could, but Walsh has been keeping on the DL, so it shouldn't have been getting to them too badly. It seems that Walsh, , and Amare have talking the talk and walking the walk regarding how well the team plays together, theoretically keeping thoughts of a trade to a minimum.
