Murphy is asking for a trade from the Nets and was sent home. We need a big, he was averaging about 15/10 in Indy. Is he worth it? If so what would you give up for him?

He has a big expiring contract and so do we (Curry) which will soon lose all its value. It would give him the rest of the season to audition for a new deal and give us a big man for a possible playoff run.

Troy Murphy is worth a bag of chips and a soda. Seriously though, he's straight garbage.

14/10 is not garbage when we have no interior presence.

if we miss out on Melo then i'd be open to doing a straight swap of Curry for Murphy... i don't give them any picks or players... the Nets have gone out of their way to talk smack at the Knicks' franchise... God watches everything.

Let me be clear, don't want the Knicks to break the bank for him but I wouldn't mind him getting the rest of the season to see if he would be a good fit.

Troy Murphy wouldn't give us an interior presence. He's a jump shooter and the only rebounds he gets consists of the ball bouncing towards him. There's a reason Golden State and the Pacers gave up on him. In fact DW was the one who brought him to Indiana and he took major heat over it.

tell u the truth i'd just as soon make a trade for Dalembert than Murphy... we have enough 3 pt shooters on this team as it is.

For a straight swap of expiring contracts I think he'd be worth a look, wouldn't be the first Walsh reclamation project.

The Nets gave up a bit to get Murphy. I think they want something back other than just a Curry salary swap if they trade him.

Dalembert using Azu, Mason, Walker

Murphy using Curry

If they dont deal for Melo a Murphy for Curry swap wouldn't be the worst thing. Especially considering Murph would actually have a chance to play instead of sitting on then bench dreaming about some late night Papa John's.

He shot .450 from the 3 pt line in 2008/9 & .384 in 2009/10.

I think in our offense, if he's healthy, he'd probably shoot closer to the .450 than his career average of .391.

I could see him being a good bench player here. Rather give Sammy a shot

I like me some Troy Murphy. I dunno how he did it but he's been a double double machine for a while and can shoot it from outside.

The only thing is he doesn't help us with our biggest need which is interior defense.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
