The Nuggets have no interest in acquiring O.J. Mayo, according to a source.

It was reported on Thursday that the Knicks have reached out to the Grizzlies about sending Mayo to Denver in a three-team deal that could ship Carmelo Anthony to New York.

The Knicks don't think Anthony will sign a contract extension with the Nets, giving them hope that they can swing a deal for the All-Star forward.

The Nets, Nuggets and Pistons are still engaged in talks on a 13-player deal that would send Anthony to New Jersey.

New York has tried to discuss a deal with Denver all season, but the Nuggets have been underwhelmed by what the Knicks have to offer, which has lead them to recruit a third team for a possible deal.

Sources also claim that Mayo, who has one year left on his contract, would not be happy with a trade to Denver.

Those clowns over there will suffer in the end, it seems like they want a bunch of high draft picks all top 5..they act as if melo is a sure nuff title once you get him.

I'm sure this will play out all season long

Nope its got one more month left my friend-- and if I was the Nuggets NO way would I let it run to the end--way too much can go wrong at the last moment. If the trade deadline passes--then they just have the team they have this year. Every day that passes their leverage shrinks.

what leverage do u think u would have if you were the Nuggets GM when ur franchise player is making it clear he's not gonna sign any extension w/any team but the Knicks? the Nuggets can hope to get a deal done before the deadline all they want, doesn't mean they have any way to do it unless they're willing to start considering trade offers from the Knicks, which currently they're not.

To be honest, I can't blame the Nuggets on this. The only way Mayo's value could get any lower is if he changed his name to Anthony Randolph.

The lockout is some pretty strong leverage in their favor. I personally don't see Melo holding out into FA.

i think a trade will get done but w/the Knicks... just my gut feeling... we'll see how the 3 sides play their cards.
