Billy Walker for Tracy McGrady and a 2nd round pick

Salaries are identical.

TMac is 6'8 versus 6'6" for Walker and TMac is a better rebounder and passer. McGrady is a clutch shooter as we saw last year and he would cut down on the amount of bone-headed plays that we make with Walker in the game.

I think Tracy could also allow Felton to play off the ball a little bit and deliver the ball to Amare in better spots because of his height. With him in the game we could have everyone except the PG at about the same height which is good for our switch happy defense.

Talk amongst yourselves...

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

No interest in McGrady and I don't think he wants to be back here either. He didn't have a ton of positive things to say about being here. I think Grant Hill is a different story- Grant Hill would be awesome here and would fit the role you are proposing. He has a much better attitude and is a better teammate.

I'm not really into acquiring short term pieces for this team but I'd be totally on board trading for Grant Hill

Grant Hill is more a guy that can help your young players along and add something to the team than a guy who would just be a short term solution. McGrady just seems like a guy who ends up being a distraction. I wasn't impressed by his stint here last year.

TMac already burned his bridges here. He was very critical of MDA and his staff.

right... he'd be able to teach some playmaking tricks and, more importantly, defensive technique to the abundance of wings on the roster. Not to mention professionalism. Between Amar'e, Felton, and Hill, that's a great group to imitate

How do you get him here though?

$2.5m is the minimum you need to send back to Phoenix and I'm sure all the contenders will be all over him if Phoenix makes him available to do him a solid.

Be it Hill or TMac or Battier, I'm hoping we bring in another vet that fits but that can set up offense instead of just put up shots.

Tracy can run the point well, a million times better than Toney, but can he defend? How healthy is he now?

McGrady was kind of a douche when he was here, and Walker is playing kind of well .. It would take a matter of weeks before McGrady started complaining about something, so I would stay away from him
