We have the 18th pick right now (Houston has 14, so right now we'd keep our pick) - will Fredette be there?

By the end of the year, I'm expecting our pick to be even lower :)

if that kid keeps shooting the ball like that he'll be a lottery pick easy

Can he play any defense? How is he distributing the ball? Handle?

If we have a regular draft this year then he will be available when we pick, otherwise, him being a senior, he's a top 5 pick in a senior only draft.

A guy we need to look at is Aaric Murray who is a 6-10 pf/c that can rebound, block shots, and knock down the 3 consistently. He looks like a better version of Channing Frye or maybe even Raef Lafrentz who i used to like a lot. A nice fit for this system.

Watched a clip of the game, Fredette has a very good handle, better than Redick or Morrison. Had some some nice moves to shake some defenders. Don't know about his D. Great range from beyond the arc.

Couldn't find a clip of the game but here's one from earlier this month.

+1
I think he'll be a better rebounder and defensive player than Channing.

Jimmer Freddette is MDAs wet dream. A guy who needs be guarded out to 35 feet with a very quick release who can shoot it @ 45% from 3 90% from the foul line--yet also has the size and strength to also get into the post and make precision passes with limited TO's

From a Chad Ford chat

Crimson (SLC)

Jimmer from BYU may be an okay college player, but I don't think his game translates well to the NBA. Your thoughts?
Chad Ford (1:51 PM)

OK for a college player????? To me he's one of the two best college players in the country along with Kemba Walker right now. He's a scoring machine and just super fun to watch. I see a lot of BYU games and the kid is for real. However, when you start projecting him into the NBA ... it's a bit tougher. Most NBA scouts see him as a late first to second round pick. Lack of lateral quickness is a big part of it. Most of them also see him more as a two than a one in the NBA ... so he's also a bit undersized. I've heard tons of comparisons to guys like J.J. Redick ... to Eddie House ... to Mark Price to Steve Nash ... but I haven't spoken to one scout or NBA exec who has him in the Top 20. They may be wrong. No one had Landry Fields in the Top 20. I sort of think they might be wrong. The more I watch him, the more I think he has the toughness, basketball IQ and shooting ability to find a place in the NBA. If I was drafting I'd consider him with a Top 20 pick, but my NBA friends don't agree ... yet.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Sadly, Jimmer might get the Landry Fields effect and teams will reach and take him ahead of us in the top 15.

Just a note - the kid is a New Yorker from Glens Falls.. Continuing his great play from HS.

This kid has been getting press since last year. Why the shock and awe all of a sudden? Yes, I can't see someone not taking this guy. He seems like a sure thing.

I live up near his hometown and we used to do a couple camps together. I was never impressed when i played against him considering the hype, but he has really come into his own. We have a mutual friend who was always better than him growing up, and now plays D2 ball. He used to eat him alive at the camps. When i first heard D1 schools were looking at him, i was shocked. It is amazing how far he has come along. I have never seen such development in my life.

He's similar to Steph Curry in a way. I think he's better than Reddick. We should try to get him if he's available at our pick.
