Maybe the Nets think if they trade for Carmelo right now and he still refuse to sign an extension they can trade him to The Knicks before the Feb 23rd deadline for Gallo and a 1st and 2nd round pick, Curry's contract and then move on. Gallo would be a draw for them.

Yea, could be, Papabear. Anything is possible. There is a large Portugese community in Newark and Gallinari is from Southern Europe.

Gallo in Brooklyn... White Ice... I can so see Gallo doing Stoli commercials while driving a customized, dropped Kia through Flatbush...

they're not gonna give up Derrick Favors, Devin Harris & 2 1st round picks so they can trade Melo to their crosstown rivals the Knicks for Gallo, a late 1st round pick & a 2nd round pick dude.

Now Melo is still refusing to sign an extension only with the Knicks and he walks after the season. Do the Nets just let him walk when they come to grips that he won't sign and only with the Knicks will he sign an extension. Do they try to deal him to us before Feb 23rd in order to at least get something back. Look the Nets are willing to do this deal without Melo signing an extension which is crazy. They won't make the playoffs even with him.

Melo is a salary dump. They'll buy him out at trade deadline.

I like when Avery asked if he dreams about melo he said "I dream about Lopez grabbing 10 rebounds"!
