Although there is non stop talk about Melo, and I am in the crowd that does want him traded here, there are other free agents available in 2011. What would your "Plan B" be if we have the cap flexibility but cannot sign Melo?

I would like to see Troy Murphy and Leonardo Barbosa be signed to strengthen the bench. Barbosa is the perfect scoring combo guard to come off the bench for MDA and I know they were close in Phoenix. Troy Murphy is a great rebounding guy who can play center in MDA's system, as well as an amazing 3 point shooter for his size. He is getting no playing time in NJ so he should come real cheap. I think even if we do get Melo, I would like to see both of these guys signed as well. Of course the new CBA stands in the way of real speculation.

It's weird Murphy must still be hurting this year, his stats, etc are way off. What's up with him? Seemed like a good fit for Nets but isn't

It looks like his shot has abandoned him. Maybe it's hard for him to get a rhythm while competing with the Hump and Favors ar power forward? He's always seemed out of synch on the court whenever I've seen him this season.

I only scanned that list but it looks like there aren't even any all-stars other than Melo

i didn't include bigger money FA's like Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, etc... i'm not interested in guys like that on a big contract.

I'd prefer Glen Davis to Troy Murphy... I think Barbosa is better than Dragic but I like what I've seen of him too. I like your general thinking though.

This is not a good class at all. Very few players i would be interested in. The rest of the players we would only look at for a specific need, such as Dalembert for obvious reasons.
