How about Gallo for McGee. Is that a fair deal?

I love Javale McGee. Great option.

I don't know if I feel like we can beat Miami. I think the only way we beat Miami is if we get Melo for free in the off-season AND keep Wilson AND get a big man. I would trade Gallo for a big man.

We're not ONE good big away from a championship.

But if we do say acquire Camby this year, I think we'd be the 3rd best team in the East, just behind Miami/Boston. Camby would push us ahead of Orlando and Bulls easily.

One big man and another backup PG/G. We need more instant offense off the bench from the guard position. I'm not so sure TD is the answer.

briggs - no competing franchise is tossing away a valuable 6'11 asset so the Knicks can compete for a championship.

This is at least a two year process. Any quick fix will require accepting the risk of breaking the harmony that has developed over the past month.

uh, we need another superstar, back up pg, defensive big man ( turiaf is good in only spurts) and a garbage man perimeter defender ( though landry could soon fit that bill) from being a title contender.

If Denver accepts a deal laden with picks for Melo why cant we offer a similar yet smaller deal for nene? we can give them 2 #1's and a 2--that is more than fair.

Also its in the Knicks best interests to do a deal this year. That way we can retain every single player and if need be still have the full MLE LLE at our disposal.

I disagree... the team surrounding Amar'e and Felton is still growing. It would be foolish to go all in now. The best deal out there would be Curry and the 2nds for Camby, but that prevents us from buying during UFA. We're a third of the way through a successful season, but there's still a lot of basketball to be played. Foolish to make our move based on such a small sample size. The young guys have earned their roles and relying on them to perform is part of the reason they have grown so much this season.

The team definitely needs to make a move, yes, but I'd prefer to patient and find value. The team only has one move to make, given the cap flexibility and the first round draft pick situation.

I like Nene also but I don't think Denver does that deal until they see what happens to Melo. One thing to realize, Denver is in 6th place in the West, playing well. Their record is just 1 game worse than us. So they are not going to break up the team before they finalize Melo. And Melo is a whole story in himself.

I do very much agree with you on the need for a rebounder. Sac needs to rebuild. Dalembert is an expiring but we'd have to match 80% of $12.2 mil. If we don't go for Melo then we could use Eddie + young player.

However, Carl Landry is available - a $3 mill expiring. Landry says he won't resign with Sac. He is a 4th year vet who is smart and very tough inside. Plays hard and is a positive, team infuence. More a PF but at 6'9" and 250 lbs he would also back-up center. Sac would want a young player or 2, or a 2nd round pick also.. If reasonable and not one of our rotation players, I'd grab Landry.

And I agree with the Supreme Commander, we don't have to break up this team right now. We are on a roll. Carl Landry would fit in without disrupting the core.

east alone:

boston- rondo is the one pg that gives felton fits. kg has always played amare well and we still have no answer for pierce.

miami- they are just dominant. we have an answer for bosha and will dominate the frontcourt but they proved that they can win even if you dominate their frontcourt ( last nights bucks game when bogat had 27 rebounds).

orlando- true, howard has to do too much with no frontcourt help after the trade, but he has two other players that could take over the game at will with j rich and arenas. howard causes so many problems, more problems than anyone else imo because he is so dominant in the paint and is much better passing out of double teams. one problem our team has is defensive rotation is not consistent. orlando will make you pay for that.

let alone in the west the lakers, thunder and a healthy dallas team. no question, we are on the right path and we are closer than I thought in the beginning of the year. but we still have a year or two before we are a part of the elite class. our team now is on the same level as atlanta ( which will be interesting the next time we play them as we got markedly better).

How can you watch this team as say we need another superstar? Quality big man YES--but we score more than enough points--we have a superstar and many good players with a few that border on all star level. Im looking forward to playing a very good big team on the road --want to see the results

Dude had a bad series against J nelson and all of a sudden he can't guard fast Pg's...you would have to show me more examples of this.
