Interesting quote from Amar'e in one of Hahn's pieces:
"We have a solid team right now. We don't really need much,'' Stoudemire said. "We're playing well and we feel with the team that we have, we can be very successful if we keep improving as individuals and as a team on the defensive end.''

Doesn't sound like someone pining for a certain other someone. He's happy with what he's got: the team is young, talented players are breaking out all over the place (Felton, Fields, Chandler...), the guys are playing, at times, inspired help defense - why mess with this? See where you can take it this year and then smartly tinker or reload in the offseason.

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

We need a big man upgrade over Turiaf and a possible third PG in case of injury. Id like to get off this Caremlo gig and get Nene--let the Nets have Melo and we can trade for nene.

They definitely need another rebounder to win more than a round in the playoffs.

Yep I'm not that interested in Melo, I'd be looking for size and defense.

How can you not be interested in Melo? Don't get too caught up in the wins, it means nothing come playoff time. I do not want Melo on the Nets, so they think they are almost as good as us. I want a championship. Just adding someone like Nene is not going to get us there, let's be realistic. Not to say we need to rush and overpay for Melo, but he puts this team at another level then Nene ever could.

That's my feeling too. Probably not a huge difference maker in the regular season, but in grind it out games, having a guy who can create for himself can be huge.

If jeffires is waived I'd pick him! He can guard 5 positions and would come back for cheap he would be the best fit
