Johnson is starting Favors regardless of mistakes and despite Kris Humphries being a much better player at this point. It would be nice if Randolph could get this chance. Also, great match up of 08 centers in the Nets game.

One is a playoff team, one is not. With 9 wins, you can do that.

OR, maybe we should start AR and sit Amare.

You mean so we could also be 10-25?
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I thought we've gone over this issue before and pretty much settled the issue. AR will play if can help us win. This is a team that is solidly in the playoff hunt and trying to see just how good they can be. That's just not the right situation to let a player figure it out in meaningful games.

AR has to earn his time on the court in those 45 minute practices. He shouldn't be on the floor if he can't help us win, and that should be clear in practice.

I think the Nets are planning on being in the mix if they can get Melo. I also think they may lose interest if they can't get him soon. That being said, Favors isn't causing that team to lose in the 15 or so minutes that he gets.

you weren't saying this last year when Jordan Hill couldn't get any burn... is there a different set of circumstances that make sense for the Nets to play a youngster who is still learning the game this year as compared to the Knicks last year?

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

why don't we send AR down to the D league to make mistakes down there? it's baffling the knicks dont use this, various teams have sent a guy down and recalled him to great success. the nets just sent t-will down there and promptly traded him for TWO first rounders! send AR to the D league!!!

Yes there is. There are about a million reasons and differences between the players and their respective teams.

also, you are going to have to plead some ignorance if you think the Nets traded TWill for 2 first round picks. That's just not what happened.

Who cares about AR at this point. We are competing for home court in the playoffs. This is not about developing talent anymore.

If AR can't get into the game now, he never will. From what we have seen from him ealrier in the year, he was terrible.

Hill is not anything speical so far either in Houston. If he is average at best in his 2nd year, it is easy to assume he was not ready his 1st year.

We need a low-post defender, rebounder and shot blocker who can keep the offense moving from the high post. AR does not fit the profile outside of rebounding and shotblocking. We are already getting plenty of shotblocking, and his rebounding at least from wachin him never came from boxin out etc. He just got his boards by using his athletic ability. We need somebody who will box out and the hard boars, Amare is already getting the easy ones.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

AR had a few good games early in the season and not coincidentally it was when they ran. I believe the benching is about AR learning to play halfcourt basketball. We've all seen what he can do in transition. Randolph can't rely only on his transition game, its on him to learn more than one facet of the game. If D'Antoni is trying to teach him anything its probably that.

I watch the Nets a lot. I think a couple of things were in play with Williams. He is a good player if he is the best player on the floor(i.e. summer league, dl) but that wasn't going to be the case in NJ. I think you are right about the picks but the Nets desperately needed a spark and some three point shooting and they got that in Vujacic. Morrow and Outlaw have not worked out and things haven't opened up for Lopez like I think the Nets were hoping. The move may help in the Melo deal but I think they would do it anyway.

how do you figure? the Nets are a bad team letting their young lottery pick learn on the job... we were a bad team last year & didn't give our lottery pick a chance to play... where's all the differences you're talking about that justifies Favors playing & Hill not?

You are really stumped to find some good reasons why it may play out like it did for those 2 guys? I'm not trying to be difficult here, but really?
