Been lurking for many years... for whatever reason, never bothered to post. Now, seemed about as good a time as any to start participating!

Just answer me one thing... why the hell was someone bringing up Jerome Jordan in one thread? Deandre, ok... but Jerome??? WTF??? Surely, there was a joke I must have missed! lol.

i brought up jerome jordan on the deandre jordan thread.

why? because both were 2nd round picks. (deandre went 35 i think, jerome went 44, something like that).

doesn't hurt to have his rights down the road. the point being you never know what will develop out of your 2nd rounders.

Nah, Rookie brought him up in his thread talking about what our team could look like next year... I want no parts of that dude anymore... he was soft as drug store cotton, from what I can remember... we need someone who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty so Amar'e can keep his clean!

wait... what? why does it say i have so many posts? lol... i'll definitely contribute to alba though, hahah!

As far as Melo goes, I'm hot and cold with the whole thing... the better Chandler plays and the clearer the whole in our team become as the season progresses, Melo starts to make less and less sense.

I like the starting group we have out there now with Gallo out. Chandler playing his natural position and being that other consistent offensive weapon that can be relied upon in the rare spots where Felton+Amar'e is being slowed down. Fields gets in where he fits in... he's amazing at that, and will only get better. Turiaf, despite being undersized, does what we need him to do... enforces and energizes on the defensive end while blocking shots in the paint. That said, if we could bring Turiaf off the bench and have TRUE Center starting... one with the size to body up guys like Dwight, and let Amar'e focus one what he does best on D and that's help out and get off-ball blocks while playing his natural position at PF offensively, we'd be set... and quite deep.

the only thing we'd need beyond that would be a true pg to backup felton and make the offense tick when he's... gallo off the bench will help that problem a lot though, and might even render that a smaller problem then we think...

right now, you add melo, he basically does what chandler does, with slightly more scoring ability, less defensive ability and costs more money to do it... i'm not really seeing the point anymore... but everytime we get handled by the Miami Carpetbaggers, I waiver on the stance just a little...

btw...i'm not gonna judge Jordan by one summer league....he will eventually be brought back, either next year or the year after. apparently, he is improving and putting up decent numbers. He's 7'-0 250 lbs and athletic. dunno if he will be good or not in the NBA, but we spent 1M to get a look and see....also....

In the 2007–08 season, Jordan finished second in Conference USA in rebounds and first in field goal percentage and blocked shots. Jordan's eight blocks against ECU tied a Conference USA Tournament record, set by Cincinnati's Kenyon Martin in the 1998 tournament. Also his 21 blocks in four Conference USA Tournament games set a new tournament record.[2] Jordan was rewarded with being named to the Conference USA All-Defense team.[3] Jordan led the Golden Hurricane to the 2008 CBI championship and was named the tournament MVP.[4][5]

In the 2008–09 season, Jordan finished 2nd in Conference USA in rebounds and 1st in field goal percentage and blocked shots. He was rewarded with being named 1st team all-conference [6] On April 10, 2009, Jordan announced that he would returning for his senior season at Tulsa citing that "I think I was ready (for the NBA draft), but still have things I need to work on to become better."[7] Jordan was named the preseason 2009–10 Conference USA Player of the Year.
Jordan owns the Conference USA career blocks record.[1]

I don't read to good...but i think that said something about...rebounds?...blocked shots?...oh and something about defense..

Such a reasonable perspective. Welcome, and glad you're not in the Starphuck or bust group.
