What kind of bum max players are these?

This doesn't mean Wilson is a potential max player but that those two bum max players shouldn't have max deals. They were mistakes.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Bingo. Depends on the CBA, but you'd think he'd get the same deal Matthews got as an RFA. Wes' stats are a notch under the Mayor's in a slow-it-down system, so I would think they're pretty comparable players. ($5,765,000)

I think it's safe to say that Donnie has made another big mistake. Lee at 8-9M would have been a big win for any team in the league. Everyone said he wasn't worth it and he ended up getting 12M.

The same thing is going to happen with Chandler. Especially with Gallo out Wilson is going to continue to go off.

Donnie did the right thing in not extending David Lee... we were able to sign a much better player for the same position & had enough flexibility to sign Ray Felton this past summer... our mistake was trading Lee for a guy that ended up being a bench warmer... that's not necessarily a mistake on DW's part either, i doubt he would have ever made the deal if he knew AR would never get any playing time... it's just the way things played out.

It's not that AR can't 'get' playing time, it's that AR can't earn playing time.

Donnie has usually been pretty fair and good about extensions. He signed Ron Artest to a very reasonable contract.

Wilson doesn't have the star power of a max guy - I'm sorry, he just doesn't.

Give him a nice extension starting around $7M or $8M if he keeps his level of play up. That will end up being in the range of 6yrs $60M, which is probably fair.

yeah but who was calling for DW to extend Chandler after the end of last season? No one, especially cause his play didn't warrant it.

Again. Not true on Lee. Had we signed him intially when he wanted a contract extension you could have got him for 7 Million dollars (AR, Moz, Roger Mason) that was the season whe he averaged 16pts 11rbs. The next season you could have got him at 8 to 9M going into the season. He would have been easily moved for that price.

Ronny is a good player, but right now Buke isn't playing this season and Bill Walker and Williams are playing over AR.

I'm sure knowing what the Suns got in return for Amare a package would have been on the table where the Knicks didn't have to give draft picks up in a Jordan Hill deal or even make it to begin with.

It's a clear point that sometimes being patient with a player isn't the right move.

Walsh is a great GM and he made three great additions this season. But sometimes being patient or rushing comes back to haunt you like the Jordan Hill deal.

Also...umm..what else could we have realistically done with Lee? Were there other options?

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Sounds like a good number. If, for manuverability purposes, DW offers the qualifying contract, does he;

1) Have to accept it?
2) What is the dollar value of that contract?
3) What are the benefits/consequences of such a contract?
