How far do your Knick memories go back?

I can remember sitting with my Dad, watching Clyde and the Pearl on Channel 9. One of my most vivid Knick memories is how Phil Jackson (yes, THAT Phil Jackson) would come off the bench in the final minutes simply to wave his impossibly long arms in front of the inbounds pass.

Who are some of the earliest Knicks that you remember? Willis? Bernard? Micheal Ray? Stinger? The Eraser? The Animal? Mark Jackson?

I hope we get some good posts out of this . . .

I may be dating myself but my earliet recollection were Sweetwater Clifton with hig arcing set shots, Carl Braun, Dick McGuire at the point, 6'6" Harry "the Horse" Gallating at Center, Jump Shooting Jim Bechtold. Then along came Keeny Sears, Willie Naulls, Richie Guerin.
Ray Felix came along and the Knx had a true Center. Several years ago i ran into Ray Felix at a 76er Knx Game in Philly-about a year before he died. Nice man-he admitted that if he stayed in shape like most of todays player he could have lasted longer and made more of a lasting impression. He was Rookie of the Year 50 years ago.

I'm 20, The earliest I think was when my dad bought me a 1994 eastern conference championship hat. I remember thinking the logo looked so awesome!

Nothing to me was funnier to watch than "EDDIE LEE WILKINS" play with his ashy skin . He and Rory Sparrow cracked me up!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think everyone else thought your memory only went back to the 4 games FWill started.

I'm 40. I remember vaguely the 69 team, was a big fan by 72-73. Knicks were the first sports team I loved. Spent my most ardent fan years when they truly sucked ... guys like John Gianelli, Sly Williams, Lonnie Shelton ... can't forget HawTHORne WINgo then on to Marvin Webster, Ken "the Animal" Bannister. That badass backcourt of Ray Williams and Michael Ray.

Bernard is my favorite Knick. Always will be. Never forget the game he scored 60. Had 40 by the half. Or the playoff series against Detroit where he averaged like 40, and Kelly Tripuka somehwere around 30. Or him pretty much on his (gotta give Mr. Bill some props too) took that ridiculous Celtics team to 7. Who else was on that Knicks team? Rory Sparrow. Trent Tucker. Darryl Walker. Truck Robinson. How the hell did they play with Bird, McHale, Parish, DJ, Maxwell? Bernard was just so competitive. He wouldn't let them fold.

lol! marti mar showin' love.
i personally can't remember my "first" memories. i was a constant player & have always lived to play till' this day. although i do remember ewing in his prime. quick spin move, dunk like a man, DAMN so fun to watch! now up to 30yrs of being a player & student of the game. good topic. good to learn more about my fellow NYK fanatics, regardless of different point of views. LOVE!

1970: Willis, Clyde, DeBuscherre, Bradley and Barnett, with a bench of Riordan, Stallworth Donnie May, Bill Hoskett, Johnny Warren, Nate Bowman and Hawthorne Wingo. I believe Phil Jackson was hurt that year.
