Yeah but if you look at their roster, the Magic's bench is still just a bit better with Arenas coming in. We trade for Melo we still need to get someone to rebound. I'm curious what kind of deal we can make for a rebounder so that if we do add Melo, we have also filled our other hole.
Getting Melo instantly makes us better by giving us more star power, compared to only Howard being the only star on Orlando.
I understand we still need a big if/when we get Melo. But us having more firepower in the starting lineup is more powerful than Orlando having a deeper bench.
Knicks are #1 scoring team in the league!!!! Pull your head out of the sand. They lose because they are small, get beat on the boards and cant defend the post. Is Melo playing center?
Find where in my posts I've said I don't want a big man who rebounds and defends.
if you want Melo as priority #1 its the same as saying you dont want a bigman because there will not be assets left to upgrade the frontcourt.
Melo is great talent, and I would have trade every first rounder for 10 years if we could have had him next to Ewing in the 90s, but this current Knick team doesnt need him and he's not an MVP caliber player you give everything up for.
You trade Chandler/Gallo/Fields for Melo does that even make you better? Not to mention your probably taking Harrington back in the deal.
Knicks have some good young players. Now is the time to let them develop. If you want to make a run this year then upgrade the frontcourt. Melo doesnt make you better than the Heat or the Magic or the Celtics.
If we get Melo the future is in Jerome Jordan's hands. He's not worth $20mm a year.
Go get me OK4
