Be careful what you wish for because you might get it. Marcin Gortat had wanted out of Orlando for the last couple of years because he wasn't getting enough time behind Dwight Howard. Gortat is now a member of the Suns, after a six-player trade with Orlando on Dec. 18, and he called out the team after they lost 123-110 to the 76ers on Wednesday.

"It's just a little bit frustrating when you come in the locker room and people are talking about the offense," Gortat told FanHouse. "That's not the way you're going to win NBA games. I don't know if it's just me, or maybe I'm just different, but I came from a team where everybody's competing and trying to do the stuff that coach is saying. We're just totally changing our rotations, changing our stuff that we set before the game. We're not playing hard enough and I've just got to tell you, there's a lot, a lot of work in front of us."

"It's just frustrating, frustrating as hell," he added. "I'm not going to lie."

The Suns have gone 2-8 in their last 10 games and have a record of 13-17. They also give up the most points -- 110.0 -- in the NBA.

We all know Alvin Gentry basically took the SSOL system and "tried" to focus a bit more on defense.

maybe he should look at the the guards in front of him, and the fwds around him, then ask himself are any of them defensive players.

He should also relize that he was playing behind one of the most dominate big man in the league right now..

SSOL is an offensive strategy. Same with the triangle. Same with the Princeton offense.

What thing do all of the above have in common: none of them are defensive strategies.

I recall some saying Gentry improved on D'Antoni's system by incorporating defense. I guess you forgot Amare's quotes last season about he was never taught defense.

Martin can you change the thread title to "SSOL not conducive to defense?"

Im assuming since the offense requires players who can really stroke the 3 that those players arent the best defensive players.

Then why is he here, and why is he playing the best defense of his career...simple because he's applying himself.
