in the long term..getting AR minutes makes sense as it protects the $100M Man.
Other stars have had similar issues though. Every year Jason Kidd and Steve Nash's teams talk about cutting down minutes but then they end up playing a ton because their coaches are trying to win games.
I think MDA has a ton of pressure on him to make the playoffs this season and his arse is probably really sore from getting blown out regularly and having to face the NY media the past few seasons.
Some people speculate that MDA isn't playing AR because he's trying to change the culture of the Knicks and AR MUST be doing something behind the scenes to piss MDA off. If you really think about it though if MDA really though AR could help him win, he'd be playing unless he was blatantly being disrespectful and flouting MDA's authority. Something like that doesn't seem like it could be kept under wraps in a town with this many reporters.
This is from another thread btw that martin posted from Hahn watching practice:
* - Randolph had a few standout moments in the post-practice scrimmage, mainly on drives to the basket in transition, especially when Curry didn't get down the floor fast enough to keep pace. But Randolph also had a few mental mistakes and bad decisions that had a couple of teammates frustrated with him. Again, it goes back to two major issues: strength around the rim (he is easily overpowered) and decision-making (he is prone to taking bad shots). For those who demand he should play, you need to first consider who he would replace. Williams has the four spot for the reasons we explained above and Turiaf is an easy choice as backup center
oh and I love the Moz when I watched him during the worlds but he looks terrible when he gets into games.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
