The Knicks cannot compete with these teams yet. They might win a game during the season or steal one in the playoffs, but we will never beat them in a series. We've beat to death our options. My opinion is plan A: get Melo and be willing to give up one of gallo and Chandler and include fields, curry and picks. Plan B is go after guys like Iggy and PG and C help.

I think it's interesting to examine the 3 teams in the East that are clearly better than us. I think on any given night or in a playoff series each can eliminate the other. Orlando is now the deepest. Boston is the hardest working and has he most experience. Best leadership as well. Miami has the most talent. If Miami played as hard as Boston start to finish I don't think anyone can beat them. But as we saw tonight they don't play that way. And they still beat a good team that played hard.

Boston needs Rondo out there to remain top dog in the east. They can still count on their hustle and stars carrying them past the East for another year or two.

Orlando in my opinion has the talent and depth to be better than any team in the league. If they gel right and work hard I think the East is theirs.

What separates the Knicks from these teams is that they have excellent 2nd and 3rd options and great depth. Until we solve these problems we'll be a second round exit team.

i'd like to see AR in these games before making drastic changes. if he fails, then go get what you think what you need to get but it would make sense to give the prospects on your roster an opportunity to help you in areas where they actually excel and where you actually need help.

Perhaps. I think we have a shot against a team like Chicago in the first round.

Not me, not with Noah in tow. They would be Knicks like 4-2 or something like that. Or 3-2 if it were a 5 game series.

AR isn't going to help with much right now imo, but yea. Don't see nothing wrong with him getting 10 minutes a night.

things knicks can do that fit into mda personal sphere of comfort. ffs i know i have said this in past.. make gallo the focus of the offense when he is hot. if we can get that engine going, he is definitely a difference maker in the game. how many times have you seen gallo hot but td taking the shot its a travesty of knicks justice.

whatever reasons they are it is just dumb.

other than that, we need someone else who can create shots for others. some say it's a backup pg but i think the issue goes a bit deeper than that. chandler, gallo and fields pretty much gets shot created for them by having them get passes pump fake and drive. don't get me wrong works very effectively and it's one of the reasons why we're in the top 5 offensively. however felton can't do it the whole game like someone like deron or paul can so you need another ball handler. someone who can beat a man off the dribble and draw a crowd and then make the necessary pass to get chandler, fields and gallo where they are most comfortable.

don't think that guy is melo unless he gets his assist/to ratio up. i'm beginning to think someone like iggy would fit a lot better.

If we won this game the thread would have never been created..

I would've created this thread but wouldve prefaced it by saying "I'm happy with the team thus far, am proud of their performance and don't want to be a downer BUT…"

I'm actually still happy and proud of them. But even if we won it's so clear how far apart we are from them.

I agree. Randolph is 21 and coming off an injury. I think he will blow up once he is finally traded. My hope is that D'Antoni commits to him like he did with Mozgov, 10-11 minutes and no screaming, glaring or reacting dramatically if he makes a mistake.

Knicks are pretty competetive. They are on par with Atlanta and Chicago at this point. I actually think they are better than Chicago. They seem to have trouble with our wing attack.

if shawne threes william would just be the second coming of robert horry, knicks life would be sweeter. shawne was trying to play inside the three point line in the miami game, and it was not cute. if he makes that a habit he will make life even easier for miami, boston, and orlando.
