RUMOR: KNICKS AND GRIZZLIES TALKING MAYO TRADE?
by HoopsVibe News Dec 13th, 2010
Memphis Grizzles guard O.J. Mayo could be on the move soon, and a source close to his family thinks he could end up with the Knicks. “They’re gonna move him next week and I think he’s gonna end up in New York,” the source said.

well that family rumor mayo-to-ny by this week was un-reliable. come on fam you better than that! ha. i was lurking on http://boards.grizzliesonline.com and was reminded of the family rumor. i also came across the following proposed three way trade by a grizz fan.

I like this trade. I guess the rotation will be:

Thabeet / Mosgov
Amare / Turiaf
Melo / Williams
Fields / Mayo
Felton / TD

I still don't like the Cs.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

a straight up deal minus nugs works out well too.

memphis fans love ar thanks to his lsu days, so a number of trades on the grizz board includes ar.

well grizz fans are not high on thabeet, so they throw in thabeet as the cost of doing the trade.

lol no. dont have to over-pay for mayo. grizz fans accept his value has plummeted. why? grizz have their own version of mda in hollins. some grizz fans (who are rly mayo fans) want to see mayo playing along side amar'e. but at most the key to the trade is chandler for mayo. ar in often a filler in the trades, but they have a fear that if ar cant catch a break with mda chances with "drill sergeant" hollins is slim.

Sorry, I have visions of Chandler becoming our 2nd option for a long time. No to the trade.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP)—The father of Memphis Grizzlies player O.J. Mayo(notes) was charged with attempted murder Thursday after he hit a police officer with his car and dragged him for several feet, police said.

Two officers were searching for someone else at about 3:30 a.m. when they saw 39-year-old Kenneth Maurice Ziegler of Huntington in a vehicle trying to hide, police said. When they confronted him, he put the vehicle into gear, drove into one of the officers and dragged him, they said.

Police chased the vehicle for several miles through a Huntington neighborhood before disabling it with spike strips. Ziegler was captured after a short foot chase and charged with attempted murder, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, obstructing, fleeing in a vehicle and fleeing on foot, police said.

According to police, about 85 grams of marijuana and several chunks of crack cocaine were found in the vehicle.

Ziegler was being held Thursday at the Western Regional Jail. Police say there also are outstanding warrants charging him with fleeing, driving on a suspended license and burglary.

Huntington attorney Jason Goad, who is representing Ziegler, declined to comment.

Mayo was aware of the incident, but he declined to comment through a team spokesman Thursday after the Grizzlies’ practice in Memphis. Mayo didn’t live with his father growing up. But Ziegler did help Mayo’s mother, Alisha Mayo, hand out turkeys and hams in Huntington, W. Va., last month on behalf of their son.

its next week where's the mayo?
