Who was that that wants Lopez and Mullins and AR and DeAndre Jordan and Whiteside. What do all these players have in common ?? They all suck. No production from any including LOPEZ !!

It's a different learning curve. Lopez is asked to be the focal point of his team's offense and defense.

Landry Fields is simply, "The Ninja" Sneaks up on your ass and does you in

thank god we have moved past all the "we missed a franchise center drama" by taking Gallo.

Dude is 7 ft and only averaging 6rbs per. Thats pathetic. At 7 ft, he should get 6 rbs by accident.

Sangfroid - The Answer Man shares your thought about the stealth productivity of Landry Fields.

"The Ninja" works as the best hook yet.

He also plays SF in our system and is on the perimeter a lot. Not quite as bad as say Eddy Curry getting outrebounded by Nate Robinson.

Just saying. I do hope he becomes a bit more beastly on the boards.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I think Uptown was referring to Lopez not Gallo.

ohh.. that makes sense. I thought Lopez would become a dominant NBA center but he looks a bit soft this season.

Fields is a special player, it's so rear to see a guard avg 8rbs, yet ever single time that ball goes up, he's right there in the hunt for the rebound, it's 2nd nature to him. most guards are looking to get down the court for the pass or fast break..

lopez doesn't box out at all, doesn't persue rebounds, and has never been a physical player, some bigs are different, it's like ridiculing Rodman cuase he can't score..

here's a wonderful quote from walsh

Fields is being scouted now and Walsh is amused that teams have begun to inquire about him. Walsh would only trade him for a player of near All-Star ability. Fields' minimum salary for a second-round pick ($442,000) does not match up with those guys, making a fit difficult.

How Fields is looked at has come a long way since these comments were made immediately after Fields was drafted:

Draftnet: Fields was a plain old blunder

All I can say about this draft is WTF. For all those still supporting Walsh, I think you are starting to see what I have been saying about this guy not really making the moves this team needs to climb from the bottom.

Lance Stephenson, Alabi, and they pick two bum juices

i gotta say walsh absolutely got **** on for this draft. Grade: F

Do these guys fill a need? Did the Knicks actually work them out? It seems that they could have been had as undrafted free agents.

you know what, im done. this is ****ing pathetic. landry fields, who the **** are you.

Good night--we just took two guys we couldve picked up with no picks

NY Knicks with a MASSIVE failure. ANOTHER Forward.
No Willie Warren? No Big?
Im done Fuck you Walsh.

I I STAYED UP TO WATCH NY CHOOSE TWO COMMUNITY PICKS AT 38 AND 39

Chad Ford: "Knicks take Landry Fields with their second pick. Fields wasn't in my Top 100. First time a team drafts a player out of my Top 100 in yrs"

This guy (Fields) isnt going to do a dam thing in the NBA. Why do people insist on talking themselves into hyping garbage picks.
These guys will not sniff the court.

Simple put these are wasted picks. Do you see the picks Miami made? Do you see the picks the Nets made?
Lebron must be dying to play with Douglas.
We needed some guys with upside. Willie Warren and Lance Stephon were guards with upside. We got neither. I have been watching the Knicks for awhile now. I know where this is going.

Not hard to find out, since most of the above comments were from the UK draft night thread.

I was also surprised, and made the " we could have picked them up after the draft" type comment.

Not hard to find stuff on Fields that night which told me that we should hold off on condemning him as a pick.

VDesai was the early poster who found some stuff on Fields and told folks to not immediately dismiss the pick of Fields as a major mistake by DW.

Lopez' rebounding is terrible. Still, he has a great post game and plays really good defense. I'd love to have him, but next to Amare that would be a really weak pair of rebounders.
