Nuggets Put Anthony Trade Talks On Hold

Dec 22, 2010 6:25 PM EST
The Nuggets have decided to put trade talks involving Carmelo Anthony on hold out of respect for the forward, who is grieving the death of a close family member, a source has told Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Denver officials have begun informing teams that they will not be engaging in any further trade discussions, especially with the closeness of the tragedy to the Christmas holiday.

i understand that its your opinion, but i think this has nothing to do with him saying no to NJ. his sister died and i think the nugs are doing the right thing and not making any trade talks public at this time.

More likely it is because his sister just died.

Yea I think any organization that has any decency would do the same. They don't want to add stress to what's already a tragic situation for Melo. Has nothing to do with refusing to go to NJ........

Papabear Says

They new his sister was very sick and they knew Carmelo was going through some things and that didn't stop them from trade talks. They could have waited out of respect. I beleive that Carmelo will leave money on the table to come to New York He can share the throne with Amear. I can see the league droping salaries 4% but if they get crazy all hell will break out. Look the teams who can't financially support a themselve in a city just end the franchise or move. We have too many teams anyway. Less teams will make the league more competitive.
