Do small deals if they are even there to help the teams depth. The player should be good enough to make an impact and consider having back--salary should be ending contract or smallish.
If an incredible deal comes along--then of course you take it--if not lets be patient and go through the draft and enter FA. Last year that netted us
Stoudemire Felton and Fields.
Id rather be patient and see what is what end of year while still trying to improve the team with small deals--and if something falls in our lap circa Pau Gasol to LA lakers--then you take it. Do not chase and overpay on any deal--not worth it. I do think that at the trade deadline--well be able to atleast get the depth that we want--guys like J Jefferies Carl Landry Telfair etc.. guys who can help off the bench will be available cheap or just let go to move on to new teams where they can get some PT.
I would if Im the Knicks atleast bring in Earl Barron and work him out to see if hes at the same level as last year for us. If he looks good--we need the size.
