If he put 16-6 with Houston two years ago in 27 minutes shooting 55% he can do that here. We have defensive big guys we can spot--to keep the 4-1 set and to play two bigs at a time--this is the type of player that makes sense. We have defensive spotters--this guy lets you keep the pedal on the floor.

There is a rumor from some guy on the Sac board (Real GM) that says the Knicks are talking with Sac to get Landry. He posted it on the Knicks board.
Funny Coincidence (if you believe in them)...

he probably got the rumor from ulties... or briggs posting this on the real gm knicks board.

realistically, the knicks don't have much they can offer sacramento.

i love the idea of getting him briggs - but what's the realistic offer here? azubuike + cash?

Id take him now for the right price. Either that or Amare is going to have an over-usage injury. The price has to be reasonable--he is an ending contract. Its a guy Id like to keep past this year anyway if we can--hed fir very well here--most people here probably have not seen him much--but really he is perfect for the 4-1. Knicks have to realize this + he does nothing to FA. We could do a cash deal + 2 2's

if we could give the Kings Azubuike + $3M cash + our 2 2nd round picks, i'd say sign me up.

but azubuike is probably being held back for that other dude they're pursuing...

This is probably a deal that MDA will go for. He virtually has no use for a conventional center as he has no clue how to utilize one into his system. I gotta agree with BRIGGS this is probably the best move as you would get a player that MDA actually would have use for.

I would do this. Would they want a big guy back through? Turiaf?

Hell yes if he's an expiring. If we trade for him, do we get to resign him with Bird rights? If so, it's a no brainer. Why would Sacramento trade him, is he in their doghouse or something? He seems like a terrific backup for Stat.

We need size and defense and you're pining for undersized power forwards who can score.

legit 6'9" who rebounds like manic, defends? Isn't that his MO? I could be wrong.

cause they prob will lose him for nothing. Sac sucks.

And it would give more time for their young guys in Cousins and Jason Thompson.

Here's my Knick / SacTown trade.

Landry and Dalembert for Curry, Turiaf and Randolph (works in trade checker).

SacTown gets cash flow relief because I believe Curry's deal is already paid off (not certain). They also get a back-up center that may be a better role model for Cousins and they get potential in Randolph.

For the Knicks both incoming players are expiring. Dalembert would take both Turiaf and Moz minutes and compliment Amare nicely. Landry would provide Amare and our front line a break and Landry could play Amare's high=post position very well.

Both these players would make us instantly better and contenders in the East.

Landry is more like a legit 6'7 than he is a legit 6'9 and his defense leave a lot to be desired.

Hmm, scoring isn't our problem. I'd pass, though that highlight reel looked pretty fresh.

yeah, i was suprised to see him listed at 6'9". pretty sure i remember with the rockets he was always talked about as a 6'7" wonderkid at the PF.

he's a solid rebounder, but would basically replicate amare's role in the offense to give amar'e some rest and our bench unit some continuity.

i think it's a perfect trade for the knicks.

even with melo on the radar.

Didn't Carl play starting C for the Rockets for a long stretch while Yao was out the first time? And they were winning, especially in the West.

6-9 250 with a 36.5 vertical

But who cares--anyone who understands how this system works--knows that this is the type of player you use in the 4-1. You spread the floor with shooters and slashers and lets the athletic C space to go to town--like amare has been doing. amare cant play 43 every night--we need to keep the pressure up when he is out AND they can play together becasue they are both very mobile and can hit the mid range.

For cheap this would be a good pickup. It would allow you to cut back Amare/Chandler/Gallo's minutes by 8-10 a piece (from 42 to 35 say) and not take a step back. This wasnt my first choice but he's a good fit. High energy, unselfish, good ball mover, good rebounders, willing defender, blue collar guy with some flair.... sure, I'm in. This helps us right away
