Last year was Raymond Felton's contract year - the year that most athletes (including Felton) have their best years up to that point. This is the year that many athletes, after getting the contract they wanted, return to their career averages. Not Raymond Felton. He's elevated his game to elite status - 18.7 ppg on 14.4 shots and 8.9 assists. The good news is that he's played better each month on the Knicks as he gets used to his team and the system he's running. So far in December, he's averaging 19.9 ppg and 11.1 apg to go along with his very fine defense. No wonder no one is talking about the Knicks trading for Chris Paul. Felton is our point guard and I hope he remains as our point guard for the rest of his career.

Yes, Felton has been terrific.

Unfortunately, we are reminded just how valuable he is to the team whenever he takes the bench. We are getting desperate for a legit backup point guard, both because we struggle with Felton on the bench, and he is being forced to play way too many minutes (as is Amare).

Douglas is hurting us right now. We do not need a great backup point, just someone who will not force the issue and make too many mistakes. Douglas clearly is not the guy for the job.

Ray has been terrific..There's been a lot of talk about getting Sebastian Telfair recently to backup Ray -- I'm no fan of Telfair at all. Guy's been in the league for almost 10 years now and hasn't done a damn thing. Plus there's drama and potential for trouble with this guy that I just soon avoid. No thanks..

How 'bout Curtis Stinson of the NBDL Iowa Energy?? 6'3", strong & sturdy, this guy's really made himself into a solid floor leader--very unselfish and a very good passer. I think this guy has the ability to orchestrate and run the offense while Felton sits..Release Mason Jr., deal off Mozgov for a 1st round pick and add big man Dwayne Jones or Courtney Sims and PG Curtis Stinson (Sims and Stinson both play for the same DL team so they could come in with some already-established chemistry and familiarity with each other). Try out that combination for a couple of weeks and see where it goes. Either that or call up Portland and see if Patrick Mills could be had in a small deal. That's what I'd be working on to improve this club right now. Ridnour's actually a nice player but there's no way I'm taking on future salary like that even though it's fairly manageable. Not yet. It could limit our ability to do something major when the time comes.

Felton is the man. He's balling at an All-NBA level right now. That's special. He's a no bull, straight-talking, tough little guy. A winner. Bunch of winners on this team, I'm talking about their minds, they're winners.

His lower back scared me last night, guy needs some rest. Ridnour would be the greatest thing to happen to Felton this year, but I can't get my hopes up.

Toney Douglas, who's that? What a bum. Toney D is a bigger disappointment this year than AR.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

He's in his 8th season.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

According to ESPN, he's played 6 years and is 25. Finestrg's comment seemed like an unnecessary exaggeration. So I figured I'd take the exaggeration even one step further.

That said, I'm not a huge Telfair fan by any means but we can't keep playing Felton 44 minutes.

Felton has been terrific. He looked like the better, more mature player than Rondo last night. Not saying he's better than Rondo, but he outplayed him last night. The fact that we have someone who can legitimately outplay Rondo makes me giddy.

As much as we need a guy who can handle the ball--whoever that may be--we also need a guy who can SCORE to spell amare. amare should play 36 minutes--hes been playing 43 with a surgically repaired knee that cannot be insured. If I wanted to cover my investment and make sure the team works well--Id find myself another scoring big--I can use Mosgov or Turriaf in small stints for D but I need that second scoring big so when amare is out we haev cohesion.

Yeah, that's exactly it. The worst thing that could happen to this franchise is that Amare needs microfracture surgery this off-season because D'antoni wore down his knee by trying to get as many regular season wins as possible in year 1 of his max contract.

I would disagree with the idea that it has to be a scorer though. That would certainly be nice but we really just need is a guy who can play PF/C and is good enough that the team won't get killed while Amare is out.

Unnecessary exaggeration?? Huh? You're gonna have to explain that one to me..Telfair stinks my friend -- not even interested in this dude if they gave him away for free (which they won't). There are better, more mature players we can bring up from the D-league for NADA. Not only hasn't Telfair done anything notable in the rather lengthy time he's been in the league he's got the checkered past..Beside's upping the talent level significantly from previously years, DW has successfully changed the culture of this team for the better. Why on Earth would you want to revert back to old ways? Aren't we done with head-cases like him?? I wouldn't give David Kahn anything for this guy. Not interested in his garbage..

WE gotta talk about extending Felton this offseason. Chris Paul may bounceback but right now Felton has outplayed him this season.

Yep, Definitely so. The backup doesn't need to be an all-star, just someone who protects the ball, plays some D and can pass well.

Ray Felton is doing great for us and he'll only get better as the team gels over the course of the season. If he's doing this good now, imagine how he'll look after another month...

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
