We just snuck past Atlanta in the standings with their loss tonight. Can we hold that spot? Boston is obviously too high a bar in the Atlantic division, so the best we can do is a 4 seed if we pass Orlando, 1/2 game ahead of us in the standings. Atlanta is 1/2 game back and Indiana is 4 games back of the Knicks.

Where will the Knicks be by the AllStar break?

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Orlando is in a funk right now and that wont last all season. They have a better team than us,
and i suspect they will find their way. I dont see us being ahead of them.

we will have to battle with ATL and CHI which will be hard, but it is a winnable battle.

true, but Chicago will win its division, so that's a non-factor

Hopefully we can stay alongside ATL for the 5th spot. As currently constructed, that's probably the upside for this team this season. If we get Melo, it may not have a major affect on the team until playoffs, but will set us up well for the future with the Celtics eventually declining and the Magic in a standstill without much flexbility for awhile.

I think most of us have doubts about MDA speedball working in the playoffs and winning a 7 game series. That being said when the talent is there is works in the regular season. I used this example in another thread but MDA got 54 wins and a conference finals appearance out of a Suns team with no Amare. I dont see why these Knicks cant be that kind of team, I really dont. We are a lot younger than that team, but I also believe 1-5 we are deeper. Felton isnt Nash, but he's playing like Nash lite and is a superior defensive player. Amare is a beast and that leaves Gallo/Fields/Chandler = Marion/James Jones/Raja Bell. Its close...

I'm starting to believe Knicks will have home court in the first round.

When you say how long can we stay there, you surely mean how long before we move up to third? I know that's what you mean because that's the only way to look at it. I would say about 2 weeks, 3 weeks tops.

Not going lower than 5th, my friend, no way.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

...as long as it takes in order for us to advance to at least the #4 spot and hold steady until the end of the season. That way, although the Knicks are looking like a good road team so far, we would have homecourt in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
