Since this deal is not likely to happen right away, due to Denver stretching this to the last minute, things can change. Gallo might hit his stride and finally play harder due to the rumors getting more serious and then what will DW do? I know we all get excited about a bigtime star like Melo coming to NY, but there's a serious reason for DW not to be so eager to make it happen by sending away Gallo or Chandler.
The team isn't deep enough for a title run as it is. It gets even worse if we send away our best rotation players. Gallo isn't Melo but he fills a need and he plays D. His production versus his cost is a much better bargain than Melo. He's young and still improving. It's just not so cut and dry that DW wants to send Gallo packing.
