If Anthony Randolph were up to the challenge, the Celtics present a ripe opportunity to match up on defense. With his size and situations, Randolph would be perfect on a shiftline to go against Big Baby.

Turiaf, despite his sore knee, gets Shaq, unless D'Antoni goes conventional and starts Mozgov again.

You gotta protect Stat from fouling Shaq. He gets Garnett.

Landry Fields, who can run with him all day long, gets Ray Allen.

If it goes conventional, Wilson Chandler can also get Garnett.

Gallo matches up against Paul Pierce.

Rondo? No problem. Ray Felton got him.

Tony Douglas gets The Midget (Nate) and that's the way it goes.

All I know is Peirce and Garnett are both ball stoppers and it'll never work out between them. [/sarcasm]

The #1 offensive option big man should never guard the best big on the opposing team. Ewing alwasy had PF next to him to guarded Zo etc. Either one of our bigs will have to step up, or we need to get a a guy who can guard the post and rebound and the deadline.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Gallo and Wilson normally do okay on Pierce but he always finds a way to score against us. I thought Landry did a good job on Ray the first time and should be okay this time around. I don't remember a ton about the game but I vaguely remember getting made at Amare for continually giving up jumpers to Garnett of teh pick and pop. He must do a better job then next time around. Shaq had 10 and 7 but don't really remember how he played outside of a couple early dunks. If they come at us with Garnett, DAvis and Shaq which they sometimes do, we will really need to work on defending without fouling. With that line-up we need to try to run them out of it and Felton will need to control the pace so that Rondo can't turn it inot a slugging match.

First time around Celtics only won by 2

Landry Fields showed early signs and went 5-10. Stoudemire had 27 and The Mayor went for 19. Felton was solid with 17. Gallinari went 0-6 from the field. Knicks shot 44 per cent collectively and 9-27 from three. 24 assists and 10 turnovers.

Pierce has 25 and Garnett had 24. Davis 16 was huge of the pine. They shot 48 per cent and had 33 assists.

The Knicks have balance in the starting five but need someone to match up with Big Baby on the second unit.

Nate will not be a problem. Too many distractions plus Toney Douglas equals a silent night from Nate.

Shawne Williams can ger Marquis Daniels.

Von Wafer? Get real.

I would put Fields on Pierce and Gallo an Allen. Use TD liberally on Rondo and Pierce as well.

Pierce is a sneaky scorer and will generally find a way to score against most anyone. He managed to score against teams featuring Lebron and Kobe and Joe Johnson in tough playoff series. Hopefully we make him work and don't fall for too many of his head-fake jump into you moves.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

GodSave - if the craftiness of Pierce is an issue, can Gallinari stay with him without lapsing into foul trouble?

The Knicks will need the real Gallo to stand up on Wednesday night.

Gallo does a good job of not letting Pierce get the easy ones. He stays with him, he doesn't go for the pump fakes and forces him to do a lot of one on one work. The Celtics strength is ball movement so it works to our advantage if Gallo frustrates him enough to force him to go one on one.

cheers - lets be honest, that is old thinking.

Pierce is an All Star. Respect is due. Kvetching over him as a "knick killer" is the inherited mindset of a loser.

Listen carefully to your new Captain Raymond Felton

Q. Serby: When can Knicks fans expect a winner?

A. Felton: You got a winning team now.

The Gallo two handed reverse was a thing of power and beauty

No way is that silly victory lap by Pierce considered acceptable

the putrid Celtics cheers in The Garden will only make the Knicks resolve stronger

Pierce was more relieved because he knew he was in a fight and the Celtics are getting old

The Knicks are back
