Im just enjoying the games for now and not just root for the team but for the players to succeed.
I am with Team Knicks. I like both Gallo and The Mayor. I want to keep this young group.
Yeah, I don't understand the constant Wilson vs. Gallo "competition". Both of these guys have played great this year and you can't critize either of them for their effort. Wison has been mad consistent all year. The biggest knock against Gallo is his consistency but has anyone really paid attention to his numbers? He actually has been very consistent this year(I think too many of us are counting his preaseason as part of teh regular season when they are talkinga bout his "slump"). In reality he had a 3 games slump this year and other then that has played very well for essentially a 2nd year guy. In the past 22 games he's had 4 games under 13 points. Wilson has had 5 games under 13 points. That sounds pretty consistent to me for both. Gallo's shooting has been inconsistent, but his play has been far from it. Huuuuuuuuuuge difference between the two.
last 22 games(since the long 3 game Gallo horrible slump
Gallo 16.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, .91 turnovers(including 8 games with zero turnovers), 42% FGA, 39% 3's, 90% FT, 6 FT per game
Wilson 16.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.41 turnovesr, 48% FGA, 39% 3's, 85% FT, 3 FT per game
last 15 games
Gallinari 16.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, .87 turnovers, 42% FGA, 41% 3's, 92% FT, 6.3 FT per game
Wilson 17.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 turnovers, 52% FGA, 43% 3's, 89% FT, 3 FT per game
This notion that one or the other is playing poorly or inconsistently is based on nothing and is as weak an argument. It's about as weak an argument as the Nets are a better destination then the Knicks. They both have knocks. Gallo is an inconsistent shooter(not an inconsistent player-big difference) and Wilson does not get to the line. However they both are improving, consistent night in and night out and most importantly playing great together. I think the attacks on one of the other come from a person picking a favorite and are a defense mechanism any time the other gets praise. Luckily these two aren't competing against each other like the fans are competing. I'm extremely happy with both. I don't know why these myths always continue even when not based on anything.
