I cant emphasize it enough--we need a bench enhancement a good sized combo guard who can score(maybe OJ Mayo?) and an additional big man who cans core--changing the SL or trading any of the starters would be crazy given their age skills and the way they fit in. Think about this some people wanted to trade Gallo Chandler and Fields for Melo--clearly these people do not know what a team is. Caremlo demands too many shots and would interfere with our go to player and chemistry--we have a great team that needs additions to the bench.

We can already outscore teams--we dont need that--we need interior help and additional quality depth

I agree with Briggs. Whether we get Carmelo this year or not, we are still NOT winning a championship. We do NOT need him. He needs us more than we need him. If he wants he can come via free agency. We need to reward the guys that we have right now. CHEERS!

we already have 2 "we don't need Melo" threads on the frontpage & BRIGGS posts another one... this is spamming the boards... if anyone else were to post a "we need Carmelo thread" after every game we lost at the beginning of the year they would've gotten banned.

Anthony would also be a fool to want the Knicks to break up the core they have to pick him up during the season. Makes no sense if he wants to compete for a title this year and next year.

You pick up Melo next year, do everything you can to keep Chandler, and you make adjustments after these things are in place.

We would have to renounce Chandler in order to sign Melo so that cant happen....

I imagine Briggs is a day trader and buys and sells the same stock many times over the course of a day. I've seen him do it with players too.

OK guys I think we should all calm down about our current team. Melo is the man and the Knicks should do what they have to to get him. Any two out of Landry, Chandler, and Gallo plus a pick. Once again Melo does this every night for years, not just 25 games into the season, the dunk and the free throws in the end was clutch. Our team is hot, hopefully they continue to play like this to increase the value of our guys so that we can pull in Melo.

Just like the star player means something so does the depth. We are talking about losing 3 starters and melo isn't worth it, not for the bet scoring team in the league. At the end of the day it was the knicks depth that won. Gallo + fields + chandler is great than melo. Its fun to win! Hopefully the cats trade for him so we can move on and enjoy the knicks

why not throw in mozgov and a free box at the garden?

knicks have all the leverage. melo can sign as a FA if there's no lockout. otherwise, i'd consider a gallo/curry/AR package but not certain. anything beyond that, no way. no fields, no chandler. no way i trade 2 starters to get 1 starter when i'm 7 games above 500.

Melo shot like sh!t from beyond the arc and he still torched us, I know he may not have the best 3 point jumper in the league but he is still better than 0 for 6.

We need a backup PG, and a real C, plus another big of the bench. Melo is not any of those. It would still be nice to get him, but he should not be a priority.
