Forget about the victories we have had. The one thing I notice is the collective attitude of the team. No complacency, no controversy, no guys in the locker room with their own agendas. Everyone is team-first, at least for now.

Outside of the obvious choices like Felton and Amare as leaders, I think guys like Turiaf and Roger Mason are very positive influences in the locker room. Mason may suck but he has been an ultimate pro. He could have cried his way out like Hughes for example. He's supporting the team and being a good veteran mentor we need on this young team. Turiaf, of course, is constant energy and just an all-around positive guy that we badly needed.

Don't discount having hard-working young guys like Fields, Rautins and Mozgov either.

Then you have holdovers like Gallo and Douglas who are dying to win.

The only negative is Curry but thankfully he's not part of the team anymore. Just seeing him on my TV screen evokes bad memories.

This is the first time in a long time I can say that I love this team. These group of guys are guys you can root for. Skillset aside, they truly care about the team and about winning and I don't think I have seen that here since the Sprewell days.

Things came to a head when Stat called out his teammates and D'Antoni got through to his players about shot selection. They will be tested with a tougher schedule and how they react will determine how good this team really is.

You are missing S Williams who sems to be coming back from the abyss and Will Chandler--who is the best young player we have and has all star potential. I don't see A Randolph causing any stirs either while eating some humble pie. That being said we need a bench upgrade!

I don't know what you see in Wilson Chandler.

Chandler does not have star potential because he has a poor basketball IQ. This is what hinders him from taking the next step. His decision-making on the court is below average to bad. The fact that he takes 5 3-pointers a game with that 3-point % tells you that he is not the smartest of players. This guy should be driving primarily all game because he is successful at it.

I like Wilson but it's hard supporting a guy who makes so many maddening errors.

The team already went through a lonely road 6 game losing streak and slapped it so hard in the ass that their collective hand print still smarts today.

I used to be clearly of this mind too but over the past 10 games I have seen a different player. I don't think he will EVER be a top thinking bball player on the court but he has improved dramatically from the likes of just last year.

He is playing more consistently. He isn't the ball stopper he once was (still a lot of room for improvement). Moving and cutting without ball much better.

Still can improve all of those deficiencies and clearly has capabilities to become low-level allstar IMHO

Amare's slap is what woke them up IMO, that and better coaching by D'Antoni. The Knicks are no stranger to losing streaks.

I have always been skeptical of Wilson but this year I think he has taken a huge step forward. Like Martin said he has really started to understand how to be an offensive player in the flow of the offense. He doesn't hold the ball. He either shoots it or attacks or moves to the next man. This is something he did not do last year. The one major flaw I'm still seeing is the contested shots(oh and his inability to get to the foul line with that mammoth body he has is perplexing) from the perimeter and ill advised times in the game.

Still can't argue too much about him. I'd take him over Gerald Wallace and Wallace is a pretty damn good player.

I just hope that people will like me

At 23 Chandler still has a lot of upside. I don't think we'll see radical improvements to his game, but I do expect we'll see the subtle adjustments in IQ and experience that we're looking for. All-star? Probably not, but a solid, trustworthy rotation guy, yeah.

Yeah, Amare really seemed to make a statement just before the winning streak. It's an amazing turn around. I guess we never really knew what it meant to have that kind of presence, until we got one (at least in the last 10+ years).

If AR gets a chance and performs, we can be a much better team, guy just needs to "get it". As Briggs said, Wilson is getting better and better and can amount to something near special. He has really become more aggressive. But, back to AR, when and if he gets it, look out, this will be a dangerous team.

It's easy to say that rautins Mosgov are great guys but unfortunately poor basketball players. They have very little to do with the team--Wil Chandler is a core foundation piece and certainly a main cog(and reason why we have won 10-11) Since Wilson was inserted into the starting 4 position he has averaged 19.2 points 7 rebounds 2 assits 1.5 blocks shooting 52%. His style of play gives Amare the room to do what he is doing which Mosgov and Turriaf could not. The players you mentioned will never hit this level of skill or even close.

Great numbers although if you were to keep him at the 4 his rebound numbers would need to go up. Can't argue with the rest of those numbers.

Hey dudley I have to disagree bout Wilson

He has been ROCK SOLID in his ROLE....

As for the maddening errors he avgs 1.35 turnovers a game ........ Only Gallo has less of our
starting 5

He avs 17 pts a game and shoots close to 50%

Can't knock this kid he is still real young ..... Think him and Fields are close to same age.

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

Nothing wrong with Chandler's IQ. He isnt a point forward. He is a he guy is a solid two-way player.

I think Chandler would be more effective on a team with a more traditional offense where he has a clearly defined role.

i have no idea why you responded to my post cause it has nothing to do with what I wrote.

I was talking about IQ in terms of playing within offense, not necessarily passing (and I have no idea why you would mention IQ and point forward regarding Chandler).

Also, Chandler plays the same role within the offense whether he comes off the bench or starts.

I remember those who got mad at Mike for wanting more controllable personalities, but this is the kind of result that can happen when you get guys that don't have attitude problems. The more Smart and reasonable, but passionate players you add to your team the better. Mike had that kind of team in PHX and I know he was anxious to again have a roster of guys that "get it".

When you add guys you have to be sure they are mature. This is why DW was optimistic yet cautious about Shawne Williams. Even Mike made sure this kid earned his playing time and wasn't just given anything. He's proved his metal and is now reaping the rewards. I think AR is gonna have the same kind of result. He's not taking crap due to not being in the mix and he seems to be maturing quite well.

The most important thing is that the key players on this team are smart, passionate about winning and mature. Amar'e, Felton, Gallo, Chan, Fields, Turiaf, TD etc. all have that solid character you want in a winning team. That was carefully planned by DW and MDA and yes even Rautins, Timo and Mason are part of that lockerroom attitude. Just remember how fractured it used to be with griping vets.

All I'm saying is he takes too many 3-pointers. He doesn't seem to understand his range. It certainly isn't the 3-point shot.
